Question on the use of EEKeeper.

Ok, it is time for me to do another run through BGI&II again. And for the first time I decided to, let's say, cheat a little. I thought I'd start in BGI as a Mage/Thief and then use the EEKeeper to give me the Swashbuckler Thief Kit. My only question is will that cause me problems when importing into BGGII? Thanks for any answers to my dumb question.

There's never a good reason for EEKeeper. EEKeeper has an internal validator, which is outdated, cannot handle EEEx or mod features which offload data into LUA, etc. Learning how to edit saves with NearInfinity is better because NI changes are limited to the actual changes the user made.

However, for this specific case, save-editing to apply a singleclass kit to a multiclass is wrong, regardless of the tool used. Use https://forums.beamdog.com/discussion/89800/mod-multiclass-kits instead.

Applying a singleclass kit to a multiclass is problematic because the engine doesn't handle multiclass kits well (for example, It ties selected abilities to the first class's progression, which while wouldn't affect T/M, affects pretty much all others), while the modding scene came up with a solution to basically overload the trueclasses with the kit abilities gated behind the proper multikit identifier. Having a swashmage installed through multikits is the most reliable solution.
