A new romance is here -- Cernd Romance

The mod adds a romance path for Cernd, the druid involved in solving the Trademeet problems. Cernd Romance includes ~25 talks with Cernd throughout Shadows of Amn and Throne of Bhaal, as well as a new small quest, romantic events, and comments—all to allow the main character to know the shapeshifter better and to let them create a bond.

To romance Cernd, you need to be of any neutral alignment (neutral good, lawful neutral, true neutral, chaotic neutral, neutral evil) and have at least 10 Charisma. The romance triggers once you finish his original quest and his three BioWare friendship talks (for the sake of the romance, Cernd Romance accelerates them slightly; remember to visit forest areas if you want them to happen early on).

The mod should work just fine with Cernd Friendship, but some Cernd Friendship talks may get deactivated and/or replaced with their new versions. Ideally, they should still work smoothly together.

O joyous day! I usually don't like Cernd but now I feel it can change. Your new portrait is great! Can't wait to play it. Thank you!

    You're welcome!

While the mod does not erase what he did, it gives some space to know him better, talk to him, and then decide if you want to give him a chance. Not every romance is only about flowers, but it's certainly about making a decision: whose story you want to hear and what you are going to do about it.

    Cheers!

Damn, that finally leaves all of BG2 companions as romanceable.

    Not counting Boo :p

    And Korgan *shivers*

I wish Safana and Eldoth were romanceable one day though for a more unhealthy relationship. The one in SoD for Safana was quite entertaning.

In any case congrats for another quality release Lava! You keep the BG modding community alive like very few others. Might go for a Guinness of most NPC and quests mods for BG ever already.

Poor Korgan; Mazzy and Nalia each have 2 before Korgan gets any

Hello Lava. Is there a chance that you could add an extra component to this mod that would make it gender and race restricted, like you did with your Yoshimo Romance Mod? Because I do like the idea of a Cernd Romance mod but I'm also not the biggest fan of what has nowadays been infamously doubed as "playersexuality" and would really appreciate to be given a choice in that regard

And speaking of the romance: Is installing this mod going to affect Cernds epilogue in anyway (I have Ascension installed) or add any additional ones?

No, I am not doing that. Yoshimo Romance update actually opened the romance rather than restricted it, and who knows, perhaps I will just make it open by default.

And Cernd Romance mod has some lines that change depending on PC's gender and was written with that intent. If you have a problem with that, then... Well, you may need to deal with it. (It's also a little play on the fact that Minsc and Boos Journal of Villainy - while quite controversial - includes an information on Cernd and Kivan being together)

I do write mods for all players; I do write many different romances and this one is like that because I felt like it. Yoshimo was written differently only because at the time of it's creation, when the romance was restricted, I feared to make it more open. And with time, I realized that I never wanted it to be like that.

Yes, there are new epilogues on the mod.
