Is a party with only mod npcs feasible? Will there be dialouge/interjections/trigger bugs?

Hello everyone, I am planning a couple new Baldur's Gate playthoughs and have been looking at mods as I usually do. One thing I was curious about, because some NPC mods have a lot of crossmod support, was making a party with 5 mod NPCs and no Beamdog or original Bioware NPCs in the party.

I saw a comment on a different post that said "with me i tend to only use at most 2 npc mods. if i'm using more i need atlest 1 canon npc which tends to be imoen. this is due to if you have a full npc mod party some triggers may break. for example in imoen romance there was a time having a whole party of npc mods would break her talk when she rejoins that party as it has checks for interjections with the bioware/beamdog npcs."

Does this sound right that not having an official companion, at least one, could cause issues with the banter/reaction triggers? I did a playthrough once with 5 mod NPCs and Viconia and everything seemed to work okay.

Thanks for the help!

I don't think such a problem exist in the game. I never heard of it.
It could be an issue in a mod if it really only advances a dialogue to original NPC interactions without any other fallback. I never saw such content though, either.
(I saw inside quite a few mods but of course, not all of them.)
I don't know whether the Imoen Romance was updated regarding this.

Thanks! Your Ajantis mod is one of the ones I'm planning on actually :)
