EE Keeper proficiency edit issue
I realized I may have put this in the wrong forum. So, I moved it here.
Hi! This is my first time playing through the game series. I'm in chapter 7 of BGEE, and intend to play through BG2ToB with this party. I took on Minsc a little late having adventured with Imoen until I reached 32,000XP. I recruited Minsc and set his proficiencies. Time advances and now he levels up with a proficiency point. Then I realized how I screwed up. When I recruited him, I put a point in two-handed sword, but instead of putting points in two-handed weapon style, I put two points in two weapon style. Really it should say dual weapon to avoid confusion. Well, crap. I'm literally 897.1 hours into the game (I'm taking my time doing everything in the game). So, a restart isn't in my cards.
Anyhow, I looked for ways to fix this and came across EE Keeper. I got the program to run and select a "save" to edit. I see options to change EVERYTHING else (savings throws, abilities, resistances, etc.), but when I click proficiencies, the window is blank. Nothing. That's the only thing I want to fix, and I can't. Can someone tell me what I've done wrong? How else do I fix my proficiency mistake?

Now that said, usually for Minsc I’ll want two pips in two-handed sword and two pips in two handed weapon style. The two in the weapon matter more than the style, but if that’s how you’re using him that is the best way to go.
Thank you so very much! I didn't know rangers had dual weapon proficiency as part of the class package. It's been so long since I allocated proficiency points, I thought I had done it and only just noticed it my mistake. Thanks so very much!
It's weird though, that a ranger, known for using bows, would have dual weapon style as his/her gifted proficiency. I've been playing AD&D since the 80s, and my "rangers" have always been envisioned as a stealthy, quiet, thief-esque fighter, sneaking in for that best shot and disappearing. To me, Minsc being a ranger is like a hill giant being a thief. lol
It's all part of his charm.
But I think the real prototype is Aragorn. He can be an archer, or a sneaky fighter. Or he can tank up and go toe-to-toe with anyone!
The way it’s presented in the 2E Players Handbook is a little odd. Keeping in mind everything related to specialization and style is listed as *optional*, they say a Ranger can use two weapons with no penalty… When they are wearing light armor.
I’m sure when BioWare was adapting it for BG there was some head scratching involved. “Well huh.” They settled on making two pips in dual wielding a class power.
So yeah, a little odd and unexpected. And I’ve seen some version of that question asked here multiple times since 2012!
No doubt Minsc is a “special” case as Rangers go!
