BGEE 2.7.3.1 for iOS?

GoodEatsGoodEats Member Posts: 2
I tried to start a multiplayer game with my friend. I’m playing on an iPad Pro with BGEE version 2.7.3 while he’s playing on a PC with version 2.7.3.1. We can’t find each other as we have different versions of BGEE.

Is there going to be a release of version 2.7.3.1 for the iOS so I can play with my friend? It seems all other platforms including Android has version 2.7.3.1 except iOS.

A quick check: is SoD disabled on the PC? Because in order to see and play a MP game in BG:EE, both players need to have the same BG:EE only version (as SoD is a separate app on mobile).

My friend is playing the game version available from the Xbox Game Pass. I do own and have installed the SoD expansion on iOS, but I guess that doesn’t matter here. Is it possible to disable the SoD expansion on the Game Pass version available on the PC?

Ahh, so it's Xbox Game Pass. The Game Pass version of BG:EE comes with SOD by default, and on mobile devices SOD is a completely separate title. Unfortunately, that means that BG:EE sees different MP lobbies, and considering it's not Steam or GOG, you can't disable SoD there.

We can look into this in a future patch.

There could be a workaround for the Game Pass player: rename their "dlc" folder and thus their BG:EE would launch without SoD enabled.

<gamepass_install_dir>\Baldur's Gate and Baldur's Gate II- Enhanced Editions\Content\BGEE\dlc

But it turned out the Gamepass version does seem to crash if you do anything to the dlc folder or the sod_dlc.zip file. We even tried creating  a fake empty .zip file, but it's still crashing.
