Anyone tried pickpocketing Drizzt yet?

Just wondering if it works...and if you can pick him for everything like TOTSC.

You can. Well, you can pickpocket his weapons, but not his armour.

Alora can pickpocket him with ease. Hop skip to it!

You can pick pocket his scimitars only, I managed it with around 160 in pick pockets (Level 4 Blade + 3 potions of Master Thievery + Luck spell), as didn't want to fail as reloading foe failure is basically cheating, and failure means almost certain death at lower levels...

I always thought having 100 in any thief skill was sufficient for maximal changes in success.

    Am I mistaken?

Yes, but you can obtain much higher vlues easily since potions of master thievery stack with themselves.

    Just remember ...

    You can pick a friend,
    you can pick your nose,
    but never, NEVER,
    pick your friend's nose.

    Yes.

I've failed picking Drizzt's pockets with 125 in pick pockets in the past. I died.

Also you need more than 100 in Hide in Shadows / Move Silently to hide in daylight due to the large penalties applied

...I dunno. I was able to also pickpocket his armor, not only his blades.
Even tho...I believe in this case it's called "looting"...

    And possibly cheesy tactics? ;-)

You can "critical fail" on thieving skills if you roll a 1 or whatever I think.

Even if you get both of his blades, if he attacks you, he still has them.

If you have sufficiently high enough skill in pickpockets for a target, it's possible never to fail

And it's said for Necromatic spells.

Also I miss the BG1 incantations. :( I don't care that they were utter gibberish, it was cool as hell.

    Yes
    e.g Backstab + multiple uses of Invisibility and/or have a party that's high-level

I would only try to kill Drizzt if evil, however, though I see him as fair game for pickpocketing if neutral.
