@Renulan: in BG1, abjuration isn't nearly as cool as in BG2, because there are way less mages, they are lower level, and the fights with 'em aren't "epic magic battles", more like the "backstab until dead" variety... in fact, I'm pretty sure that during the whole game, I only used dispel magic once, and even that was from Yeslick's own spec ability.

Well no, dispel and remove magic negate the need for many other things, such as true sight.
