Dorn vanishes in his ambush

I got the event to get Dorn but he vanished while the fight was going on and he is not in the FAI.He didn't seem to die in the fight as well. I there any way to get him to respawn?

    Had this problem happen once, my other 2 parties have had him fight and then talk afterwards. Try reloading.

    Had the issue this afternoon, reloading a previous save did not do anything.
    To solve it, I went back to my save and just talked to him in the FAI (had already do it, so he just gave me his GTFO line but whatever). Then headed back to Nashkel mines and the ambush happened as expected.

    Dunno if it's a reliable way though :( This might need to be moved to the Bugs section.

    The bandit on the far-west side of the initial Dorn ambush has disappeared in my game (it spawned properly the first time I played it, not sure what has changed in the meanwhile). This wouldn't normally be a problem, but Dorn appears to be scripted to assault that bandit first and the result 5 times in a row is that he *flees the area* thus breaking the entire encounter.

    I've gotten to the bandits event where Dorn shows up. First issue, the script occurs twice (Dorn, Senjak and Dorotea have their conversation twice). When conversation is over, Dorn just stands still while bandits attack him.
    He vanishes after a few seconds and all bandits become immobile and can be easily killed.

    In my case, he just leaves after conversation.

    Senjak and Dorotea go after him to the edge of the map and don't fight back while you kill them.

    Yep... I cannot recruit Dorn since he flees and disappears... any ideas?

    Just followed the advice on http://forum.baldursgate.com/discussion/9742/dorn-vanishes-in-his-ambush#latest and the encounter turned out well.

    Before going to Naskel Mines, I went to FAI, talked once with Dorn, and went directly from there to Nashkel mines.

    Dorn's encounter happend and I was able to invite invite him to join!

    This worked for me too! I had talked to him before though, but talking to him right before running to Nashkel worked.

    I had talked with him before too... there might be some bug going on... glad you could also make it!

    I doubt that, his gtfo line is totally inconsequential.
    I could investigate this if someone provides a saved game right before the ambush (i guess that's where the glitch occurs?).

    I couldn't find any more reasons for Dorn to leave than:
    1. high reputation
    2. a glitch with neera's joining makes him use neera's script, after that they are 'soul bound'.

    Hence my request for a saved game.

    If you didn't talk to him, the ambush won't occur at all (and after patch, it won't occur if you killed him in FAI).

    Some people have talked to Dorn in the first time they went to FAI, like I did. Still, had him vanishing from his encounter... I had to back to FAI, talk to him, once again, and go straight to Nashkel mines to get his encounter working...

    Sorry for reviving this issue after an year, but I'm having the same problem here, over and over.

    Tried as you advised to talk to Dorn again at FAI and then travel stragiht up to Nashkel Mines, yet nothing has changed. Still he does kill the three bandits back there, enter the conversation with the bad guys, and leaves the scene right after.

    I'm high reputation (19) truly, but could that make him not even open the dialogue?

    Hope you guys have found the answer for this bug.
