Thanks for IGN, now you can see what i talk about.
Go here to this website and watch the first video. In the first 1-2 minutes you will see the scrolling in the game with screen tearing and jumping.

Vsync says 'hi, im inside your graphics driver settings. If I'm not then upgrade me!'.

I'm going to move this into the bugs forum so that it receives the proper attention.

The link to the IGN video should be helpful, actually.

You'll also hear them give the enhanced version a pretty favorable review.

I've never seen screen tearing in BG:EE, and I don't have VSYNC on.

Thanks. Yes but at IGN. 8 not too good, they give to games 9-10 mostly. But i'm not here to talk about this. Only to show my problem. Using their video, i hope its help something and maybe i can play Baldurs Gate too.

Somehow i think they gave 8 because they have a config, where this problem also happens. Maybe other sites test machine dont have this problem. But i'm sure its destroy the perfect experience and not only for me.

I watched first 2 mins of the video. I didn't even see any screen tearing.. Anyhow, screen tearing is most of the times caused by not having Vsync on. On other cases, low fps. I hardly think it is Baldur's Gate EE:s fault, if game owner doesn't know how fix this.
It was so fun to come to these forums fist time in my life, and first post I see , is some1 complaining about the game. Just because he/she don't know how to fix screen tearing. Nice. :D

Just gonna say it, IGN give most games 9-10 scores because they're sell out whores.
  • jasiekzarjasiekzar Member Posts: 11
I don't have any screen tearing. And even if I had I wouldn't be demanding to have my money back but simply report bug and wait for it to be fixed.

I have v sync on = problem not solved
I experienced this 3 times . Sims 3, Heroes 4, and now this. You can google about sims 3 v sync. For a lot of people force v sync its unusable. Always the best if the game have in-game v sync option (or i can change in config file). In Heroes 4 i can set in config file, and works, in Sims 3 and this not.

In other news, you know nothing about graphical settings and expect everything to be perfect in a complex coded game.

    I'll just say this.
When an '8' is called a BAD score by anybody (or, in this case, 'not too good').. I don't care who.. that person has some serious flaws in their grading system.

I'm dying to play this now especially after watching that video. I'll wait until the Mac version is out and they have a couple of patches.

I know some thing about graphical settings, but no solution.

ThomasMink : you dont follow IGN then. They really nice about grading.... 8 definiately bad on this site.

Adanu : If everyone have this problem, i dont care and accept it. But no, some people have this problem (IGN too....i dont think they have bad machine , and old drivers). I feel myself fooled, because there are games , which works great for everyone.

I experienced the tearing too, but after setting v-sync to "on, unless overwritten by application" (translated from Dutch to English, so probably has different wording in reality) in Catalyst Control Center, the problem was solved. Used on Windows 7 x64 with an ATI Radeon HD 4890 and the latest CCC software. Hope this helps some people experiencing this problem...

Thank You. My v sync also on (In catalyst center, always on) . I'm not an amateur and play video games more than 15 years. I'm 30 now.
HD6470M here , and sadly still experience the moving little lines.
My friends also see the lines in the video.

You're right. I don't follow IGN. To us normal people, an 8 is a good rating. Seriously... how can 8 OUT OF 10 be considered BAD?

When it IS considered a bad rating by those who follow the site, my deep loathing of humanity (and IGN) just gets all that much worse. That said, I'm going to force myself out so as to not derail any further than I may already have.

I told you, their review are 9,9,9,9,9,9 and now a 8. Its means something . Not really bad, but something they did not like.
But for me more important that i see the same problem on this video , as here.

If an 8 is considered bad on IGN, then I suggest you religiously follow some other site.
Maybe you can be a Gamespot zealot.

Gamespot and Metacritic much stronger and "better critics. But this IGN score means something, because they rarely give under 9. Sometime these not too accurate sites also good for something :)
Maybe gamespot will give a 9 , but stronger critics, but they maybe not have problems like this. Because its not happen on every machine as we know.
Of course a title like Baldurs Gate enough for a 9. Your thing to kill a hamburger with vegetables.

sorry to say that but you dont much about this.

normally you have settings for V-sync in your graphics like this:
    -V-Sync off
    -application-controlled /default (on/off)
    -V-Sync on

if you turn V-Sync on, it doesnt mather what the BG:EE developers have used, then V-Sync is definitely on!!!

In Generell it would be very bad if the BG:EE developers have V-Sync turned on, because it can bring many problems.

but maybe you play at a laptop which have too diferent kind of graphics, in that case you should try a different or turn V-Sync on for both.

Well in Catalyst center its "always on" . Definiately this the name of the setting. But sadly its not always works , always preferred the in game v sync options.
I'm not sure it brings many problems, like now...My experince show that everyone can play without problem , with games which have this feature.
You can see in BG also the lack of any graphical settings, its not a console. Sometime we need options.
Some well known example for out dated engine is the Sims , And Heroes games, and this. But in Heroes there are v sync in config file, which actually works. Not our 3 months old machines is the problem. The problem is the game engine.

Why this lame name to the topic ???
    Just to get attention ?
  • DecrepitDragonDecrepitDragon Member Posts: 120
@tommy - I really hope that was a serious attemtp at help, because every tweak I've seen so far has advised that "Triple-buffering" be set to off, because it causes screen flicker and inventory/cursor issues.

There are a lot of people on this thread that should be ashamed of themselves - This thread may have started badly, but the OP has a valid complaint. Lets try to help not hinder eh?

Tripple buffer at the bottom also tried. Played already a Beethoven symhpony on the settings, and no result.
  • FailedProductFailedProduct Member Posts: 28
Well . i get attention, so its works ! Something finally...
