Enemy resistances

in Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition
Outside of consulting a guide is there any in-game way of determining an enemies resistances other than trial and error? Crush/Pierce/slashing and elemental or magical resistances for example? There doesn't seem to be a bestiary

    Just trial and error. You only have to hit an enemy with a damage type once to tell what its resistance to that damage type is, though.

    If you have cheats enabled you can recruit any NPC in the game to your party with Ctrl+Q and check their character sheet :)
