[Kickstarter] Tower Princess - Have a DATE before fighting the Evil Dragon

Actually, the name Tower Princess is kinda misleading: you can play both as male and female knights and be free to choose to save either princes or princesses.

Here are the current date candidates:

And let's be honest... who wouldn't want to date that Kobold Princess?! :p

As you may have noticed, this is a humourous 3D platformer with action RPG combat and also a dungeon crawling date simulator all-in-one package. I absolutely did back this project up because it has a Slime Princess as one of its stretch goals.

...

I SWEAR?!

So let's see... one Prince, mutiple Princesses? Yeah, sounds about right. :P Reminds me of original BG2. 3 elfy women. One Ass... um, Anomen. Not exactly appealing to me as a woman right now. What if I want a human prince? Or a merman prince? Pfui.

Considering it's called "Tower Princess", I think prince is more like a bonus.

    Honest? Okay - me :)

Okay, so women are not the audience. Understood.

@LadyRhian Why do say that? Women (both hetero-, or homosexual) are clear target groups here.
The list of love interests above only has those which have been by this point implemented in the game.

Another Prince is coming up as well. And he's even better than some Human or Merman Prince.
    Enter the Frog Prince!

Just look at his delicious tights! Bet he's also world champion in french kissing.

I assume you really meant to say - should either stick to princesses so that there can be no mistake about target demographic, or keep the ratio even. If so, then you do have a point :)

Yes. So many princesses... so few princes. If you're trying to appeal to men and women equally, why not have equal numbers of Princes and Princesses? Heck, just make each one a role with a male skin and a female skin. That should not be hard to implement. Instead, it ends up looking like a game for men, with female players as a mere afterthought.

It's like, "Oh, we want women to play this, too? Okay, we'll toss in a Prince for them. Are they happy now?"

Developers, here's advice from an actual girl (you know, with real lady parts and everything). If you want female gamers to invest in your game and feel welcome, give us just as much content to enjoy as the male players. Don't throw in a single guy to romance, because that makes us feel rather unwelcome, like an afterthought. We like playing games just as much as the guys do. Don't make us feel insulted by your content."

And I'm sorry if that sounds condescending, but from the other end, having only a single male character to romance Feels equally condescending to women. Even 2 romances out of, what... ten? is like "are they really trying?"

Probably not. But it also sounds rather repetive to encounter something like 4 pairs of fraternal twins in a single dungeon. I'd much rather have all unique companions with their very own races, battle roles and character quirks. Though I do agree that even more variety would be great to have. Such as hermaphrodites and characters that possess no biological gender at all. Luckily that's what the stretch goals are for.

It sure looks to me that they are *really* trying to not take themselves seriously. Which is a clear plus in my book.
It being more or less a parody game of classical fairytales and all. :p
