Intro is really great and all that, simple and complex at the same time... but the ending is truly epic. EPIC I tell you. Every time when I watch the ending there is this feeling of shiver down my spine, watching all those bhaalspawn statues, which makes you to realize how machiavellianic was the plan of the dead god, Bhaal. And suddenly you get to realize that this plan IS STILL IN MOTION. Epic... EPIC!
To be honest, I thought all of the video cinematics sucked big balls. They look rediculously oldfashioned. On the other side, Baldur's Gate's an old game
Interesting question... What ARE they going to do to replace the opening sequence?!? Most of the videos are mood and atmosphere creators... Great in themselves, but many videos also moved the story forward...
I think I heard they were remaking them, though I don't know how. Considering they haven't hired Sarevok again for voice-acting (Trent's twitter a while back) they'll probably re-use the sound files. My personal guess is re-do all the cutscenes to make the graphics a little prettier but keeping the scenes themselves the same.

There's a lot more of them than I remember and I only finished my last play through a couple of months ago.
