Is it true that these Content Modifications add new custom areas to The Original Baldur's Gate?
-Northern Tales of the Sword Coast
-The Fields of the Dead
-Secret of Bone Hill
-Drizzt Saga

Any Help or Insights would do Wonders for my 'Content Creation Education'.

So, are none of these mods good? @swit When you say that the writing quality is poor, does that really go for all those mods? If that is the case, it is rather sad. We really need new quality areas to the game to supplement and reinforce the themes of Baldur's Gate Iron shortage and to show how other areas react to the events going on in the Sword Coast region.

@Thalamond I was referring only to Fishing For Trouble with that statement (first version, not sure if the mod was improved later on). And it's hard to call FFT not good when it has the best custom areas ever created for IE. More like a mod that can be made better if author collaborate with someone to write dialogues.

Tortured Souls is usually praised for interesting story and nice writing that expands Yoshimo NPC. As for others I either didn't complete them or played them like 5-10 years ago, so don't really remember much. Look for reviews.

Ah alright. Good to hear. I will make sure to check FishingFT and the other mods out during my next playthrough.

EDIT: By the way, does the BP-BGT Worldmap mod work with BG:EE? It doesn't say anything about it in its readme >_>-

The Stone of Askavar wiill leave you with the impression you are in new areas. Although existing tilesets were used to create the areas. Some tilesets like new barrels and cobwebs were also introduced to make the areas seem different. One thing to bear in mind here is that area editing takes a long time, not only does it take time to produce the graphics themselves but also drawing the wall areas and placing actors etc can take months. Then you might have to make the travel triggers and entrances with Weidu. This is a steep learning curve for anyone doing this in their spare time.

The BP-BGT Worldmap works with BG:EE.

A number of mods add new areas, but most were imported from other IE games or modified existing areas.

By far, the most prolific additions are those made from scratch.

    Enjoy!

NTotSC was created by Aurelinus, but unfortunately he stopped working on the v3 several years ago, which was far better than the previous versions, since he wanted to bring back content cut from the original Baldur's Gate and not included in Unfinished Buisness mod. I still have the beta of this mod (v3). The mod itself is really huge, a total conversion actually, with many new locations (most are modified original areas and some from other IE games). One is even inspired by the demo of BG1, where the playable character was Ajantis.

There's a mod inspired by NTotSC, but much smaller, Mysteries of the Sword Coast: http://motsc-bg.weebly.com/ It's still in the demo stage and I don't know whether the team switched to EE/TuTu, or not.

HMMMMM, Thank you my friend. I want to get a dream team together.. If we can get in contact with Aurelinus it would seem that we could ask some very insightful questions..

Huh. I thought I put that in the quote, I guess I deleted it with a copy and paste on the pictures.

The builder who created those areas is called Big Poppa. You can find the thread and a whole lots of other pictures below!

I've talked with Aurelinus about NTotSC v3 and the cut content from the game. He said that as far as the cut content goes, he implemented all that in the unreleased v3 of his mod as best as he could. The Northern Citadel (present in 2.01B) is based on the unreleased Baldur's Gate demo with Ajantis that I previously mentioned. He still has the unfinished v3, although he didn't say it clearly, he doesn't seem to be interested in continuing to work on it.

He's fine with someone continuing his work, but with his guidance. He's not happy how the WeiDu version of his mod turned out (the authors didn't consult with him apparently). The way he sees it, is to divide the mod into two and separate it from DSotSC: 1) Focusing on the cut content, 2) New quests and locations.

He also said that BG1 (not certain about EE) has problems with implementing new locations on the map and he's not very happy with the ones that he made.

Here Is An Email That Was Sent To Myself Today (03/11/2015) From Aurelinus: Weird, His Message.. It Looks So Compositionally Similar.

*Removed By Author's Request, Now I Have Shrouded Confidential Message Into Song*

'Come Stay Awhile And Listen! *Smiles*

Long, long ago, in a forum far far away I partook in digital text battle, it was at a glance a Polish flight.
Tarry not thought nor interest, heed no false judgement upon myself; for vain were my advisories' plight.

I cease to further my vision via mine own hand, it may be known as the Northern Tales of the Sword Coast.
I leave my heart to beat upon another's land, although still my old blood remains; work unfinished nay I boast.

My name uncalled, my vision unneed, my ire unheeded; I find my project, a circle forced through a square.
To my heart, a blanket of somber snow, I find my passion thrown into a stranger's maw; twisted within lair.

Echos of the past still ring true, time has stopped, ambitions of old faded, past glory still I now give to you.
My hand mired, my heart bled; crushed under the march of blind collective progression; phoenix in lieu.

My heart sings, my artifice re-imagined, my dance of keys; strokes of vision all unto the throngs of new kings.
The new age has dawned, the amnesia of Gwynbleidd dispelled, creative fires alight; new skies fill my wings.

I stretch my hand for of aid, interest and of care; my strange fellow I may not prance in your forest for long.
Halls of old are all I boast, of which I seldom dance with ghosts; heralded by antiquity I fear, I am no swan song.'

Yeah, I was referring to his fights with the users of this one Polish site, but I got the feeling that the argument was more widespread. Anyway, nice to know that Aurelinus is not opposing to any further development of NTotSC.

it was referred to my own post, not the topic @WithinAmnesia

I was asking who had made the new areas in the post published somewhere in this topic by Sylvus_moonbow, then found who was the guy and realized it was vaporware stuff.

I'm speechless. Big Poppa made some incredible maps!!!! The amount of detail and thought put into them. Was this released to play?

@drawnacrol I wish people could work together more, but I guess if I want that done I have to hire people.
Big Poppa reminds myself of this song:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HuS5NuXRb5Y
Ah look at all the lonely people
Ah look at all the lonely people
Eleanor Rigby, picks up the rice
In the church where a wedding has been
    Lives in a dream
Waits at the window, wearing the face
That she keeps in a jar by the door
    Who is it for
    All the lonely people
Where do they all come from?
    All the lonely people
    Where do they all belong?
    Father McKenzie, writing the words
Of a sermon that no one will hear
    No one comes near
Look at him working, darning his socks
In the night when there's nobody there
    What does he care

    All the lonely people
Where do they all come from?
    All the lonely people
    Where do they all belong?
Ah look at all the lonely people
Ah look at all the lonely people
Eleanor Rigby, died in the church
And was buried along with her name
    Nobody came
    Father McKenzie, wiping the dirt
From his hands as he walks from the grave
    No one was saved
    All the lonely people
Where do they all come from?
    All the lonely people
    Where do they all belong?
