This seems appropriate today for some reason.

(BTW, In case anyone wonders: I do believe they put a man on the moon!)

In a nod to a favorite band of mine finally adding their music to stream platforms, all except Salival, of course. Super stoked for their next album release.

The prog is strong with this one. (My current favourite listening.)

Some more Johnny Cash, because this is the best version of Wayfaring stranger I know of.

I've always been more partial to Just What I needed.

So in my teens, I met Beakman, this science show guy from the early '90s (kinda like Bill Nye, but a bit earlier). I had a Green Day hat on and he was saying people complained they were like The Cars, but he really liked The Cars. It was funny, my sister wasn't at all into him, and we went there for her, but I thought Beakman was cool. I don't think Green Day's like the Cars, but whatever.

Ginger Baker, founding member of Cream, has died. He was one of the most influential drummers in rock and also played with Blind Faith, Fela Kuti, and many others.

You beat me to it. Seems like there's been a lot of deaths in music lately.

With Baker's health problems, I'm surprised he lasted this long.

It took me a while to remember that Toad was his real showcase song.

Let's take things over to the lounge tonight.

Louis Prima - I'll Be Glad When You're Dead (You Rascal You)

I always loved the line "I'll be standing on the corner plastered when they bring your body by."

And because I feel like it, Dave Brubek - Take Five

I have fond memories of Dave Brubek. My friends' Dad who passed away a couple years ago, literally knew piano renditions to all his songs by heart and could just immediately sit down and start playing any Brubek song you asked for.

    Richard Cheese - Brass Monkey

I love the horns on this version of the song. I was never Beasty Boys fan, but when Richard Cheese does, it's brilliant.

Because I walked into a liquor store and they were playing the whole sound track on Halloween.

As mentioned in the "Did you know" thread, Lewis Carroll's nonsense poem "Jabberwocky" has given us such wonderful words as "vorpal sword" and "O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!".

I just discovered that Donovan has made a song based on the poem:

I could go with The Kinks, or maybe Queen but I think this says it all...

Nothing you confess could make me love you less. Is there any one thing we all need to hear more than that?

This song always reminds me of Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid. Great movie!
