Dropping a rock from level 1 windspear dungeon still gives a snort! ***Very Minor Spoilers***

On level 1 of Windspear Dungeon, you can kick some rocks down a large crevice. Doing so will elicit some kind of "snort" from a large beast down below. I always assumed this is Firkraag, but i noticed this time that i got the same exact response as I was on my way out, after killing Firkraag. Presumably this is just a "plot hole" in the game?

I'd say it's quite obvious that this is an oversight from the original devs.
Now the fun thing would of course be to start speculating as to what it might be!
Perhaps the crevice leads down into some part of the underdark and the snort belongs to a Balrog who happens to be the big bad boss Tor'Gal speaks of in the Nalia quest?
I would love a script added to that place: If you drop too many stones while Big F is alive, there may be a loud roar and red dragon breath explosion coming out of the hole. And after defeating F, there will be no response at all.
The pit is a doorway down to Avernus.
You can visit Windspear hill in ToB with the robe from Abazigals lair, and begin the long Trek down to save Caelar.
During the long trek down into Avernus you meet different strong opponents (I see 5-7 levels of classic dungeon crawling) until you reach Belhifet and Demogorgon again - getting a chance to rescue Caelar Argent.
You can reuse all the tiles from all the IE settings, and reuse the monsters as well (they just need a boost).
Pack the content into a ToB DLC that can be teased in BG2 when throwing a rock down the well.
Add some quality loot and a couple of manuals (dexterity and constitution if you nee ideas).
End story.
It’s a trip down to the xerox machine. Little effort and something for us all to enjoy.
The idea is for free Beamdog - you’re welcome.
Best jump-scare I’ve ever had in a forum! Thanks
Except from Demogorgon (because it's too much dipendent from choices in Watcher's Keep) i love the idea!
That would make for a very long sewer!
except we killed that also. (do air elementals actually die, or do they just leave their body on this plane?)
More to the point, do they snort?
I just googled 'snorting air elemental' and I didn't come up with anything relevant. However, I did learn that people can huff canned air. Is it possible that Firkraag huffs air elementals? That would explain the sound...
