    In BG1, I almost invariably end up making the Jovial Juggler my HQ thanks to the large (empty) room with lots of storage over the kitchen. Even if you can't sleep in it (for free), you can't go wrong with such a centrally located inn.

    In BG2, I usually do the fighter stronghold early on so I can make the De'Arnise keep my HQ. Prior to that, I always end up at the Five Flagons. The Copper Coronet just feels too sleazy for my party's tastes, the sketchy Crooked Crane by the main gate doesn't even have real beds, and I always forget about the two in Waukeen's Promenade. I might reconsider now that I've had Isra in the party, but I doubt it.

    @Maurvir
    Baldur's Gate 2 was my first RPG so the Copper Coronet is too nostaligic for me to ignore. In fact the first major quest I ever did was the Slaver Stockade..right after the Circus Tent which I never really considered to be that major.

    “Wha- who’s there?!”

    “It’s the cat. Go back to sleep.”

    “Oh, okay... wait, I don’t own a cat!”

    “I’m a stray. Shh...”

    “Oh, okay... wait, cats don’t talk!”

    Paraphrasing, since I don’t have it committed to memory.
