Hi,

Is there any reason why your page with client doesn't have valid certificate: http://client.beamdog.com/releases/stable ?

Regards.

Yes, this is intentional, as it's a http, not a https site. The page is just a static site for links to downloads hosted on a Cloud.

Unfortunately, with https influencing a site's ranking, and browsers warning you if you visit a site without SSL certificate, many people now believe that a site without it is not trustworthy.

The encryption is only important to me as a user if I have to enter sensitive data, as in, login information, credit card number, that kind of stuff.

Of course the certificate also tells me I'm not on a bogus page, but I don't need the certificate if a page has only downloads. Checking downloads for harmful content is enough to be safe.
