I'm currently trying modding on android with a few mods like bg1 npc project and your amazing Pocket Play UI. It's really a cool upgrade on the UI side of the game, thank you.
Everything works well except for the map screen wich is completely black except for the information dots...
Do you have any idea why ? And how to fix ?

Edit 2 : Nervermind, I created a new Charname and the map is displaying just fine. I don't know what happened ^^

Came back to try the latest release of this mod on my android phone and the level up bug is still there. Whenever you press the button to level up, the screen goes black and stays that way. @Pecca do you have any thoughts about this? Is there maybe a workaround or anything?

Could anyone help me figuring out why copying the "override" folder inside "the pocket_play_ui" to Android\data\com.beamdog.baldursgateenhancededition\files\ did nothing at all?
Android 12, also was playing and had some saves, but tried restarting phone, the game, creating new game from the scratch, nothing works, it's like it's not even there at all. : C
What do I do, cause I'm tired of grinding for gold. ;_;
I just got a brand new Google Pixel phone and tried this UI again, and again, whenever it's time to level up, the screen goes completely black and you can't see or do anything. Two different phones (other was a Motorola) but the exact same error. I am so surprised more people are not having this issue. I really, really wish I could use this mod.
Hi, sorry I'm not able to work on the bugs you guys mention. It seems to be hardware specific and I'm unable to reproduce it and have no clue why it's happening.
@Sei Unfortunatelly Android 12 introduced some security updates which don't allow to copy to game files like in previous versions. Myself I have new phone with Android 12 and I spent short time trying to figure it out easily but with no result. I haven't really dig into it though but I expect it won't be possible anymore without some hacks.
Once I get to playing on my phone some day I'm going to focus on these issues, maybe with my new phone I will have some of the black screen problems too.
Hi @Pecca, re the Android 12 access problem. Have a look at this thread. I have also recently upgraded to A12 and found that 'Files' did the job I was after, so much so that it has taken over as my go to File Manager.

I am putting together a modfile for a forumite using this mod as the UI, but when you play a Bard, the Spell book can't be opened. I could open it after using another NPC that has spells by selecting them (Imoen for example or Jaheria with her Prayer Scrolls, then selecting the empty spell book), then selecting the Bard with the NPCs spell book open.
Testing environment:
BG1EE 2.5.17.0 with Pocket Play UI as the only mod
BG1EE 2.6.6.10 with Pocket Play UI as the only mod
BG2EE 2.6.6.10 with Pocket Play UI as the only mod
If I try to force the Spell Book open using the W key, the game crashes.
Has anyone seen this before and/or have a work around for a Solo or with the Bard as the sole caster?
Gusinda, I did not find a solution for solo play, but if you have other characters you can use their spellbook first, do not need to be a caster, if a fighter opens a spellbook and you change to your bard than you can use your bards book.
If I use this mod with Icewind Dale, I need to delete the mod before level ups, because of black screen. I level up my characters than install the mod again.
Hi @Buggyant, thanks for responding. Yeah, had no probs when dealing with a bard and others but no luck with solo... With my mobile device, I generally have limited characters (try for no more that 3) but my idea with a sole bard hit a brick wall. Oh well, I will try and see what is happening when I get time.
For IWDEE, I found that if I still had access to the vanilla UI.MENU (if you haven't renamed it in the .obb), all you needed to do was to rename the override folder's UI.MENU, level up and rename it back again. If you have removed access to the vanilla UI.MENU in the .obb as I have of late, then I just keep a vanilla version (well a vanilla version plus access to the console) called UI.MENU1 and rename both files it to do the levelling, then rename them back again.
HI @Buggyant, quite a novel approach. He/She may get a bit smelly by the end but I am sure a 'Potion of Deathly Freshener' or two would help the journey; and what a ballad it could tell to earn some coppers for my next Evermead, maybe even charge a gold or two for viewing. I always find it difficult to leave Imoen behind
Any one know why the data folder in Android is completely empty? And when I try to make a folder it just refuses and says "a folder is already using that name"
Hey @Pecca, thanks for the UI! Trying to play BG1 in my Motorola G60 with the vanilla one is, trying to find the better term, horrible... Well, like a lot of people said before, at least with me, the spell, bard and other magic books are somewhat bugged, they don't open the spell inscription and lags the zoom, breaks the quick access when you try to open the inventory pressing one of ours character portraits and other annoying bugs...
I know you said that you can't check what is happening rn and well, it's a little sad but I had the portrait black screen bug too and I did what @LewsTherinTelescope said and changed the code lines... And well, it works!!! I don't know if I can post the changed UI.MENU here with that fix but it's a really good work around for those who wants to try and fix the problem...

Recently I started playing IWD on my phone and was surprised that entire character generation didn't work all this time. So I did some compatibility fixes for IWD and released version 2.2. More fixes may come if I stumble upon more bugs.
Ok, and the blackened portraits too, I switched the elements, it should be working now on alll devices.
Hey Pecca, thanks for fixing the black portraits, but I need to ask if we will still get other updates for pocket play or this will be the last one well, thanks again, you made an excellent ui, way better of what beamdog made for phones.
I'd really like to try this out. Just bought SoD for Android. However, none of the Android 12 methods work on my Lenovo tablet.
I cannot copy or even see the contents of data/beamdog... folder, no matter what I do. Tried 5 different file managers, tried via PC.
Nothing seems to work. Guess I'm out of luck?
