Of the 3? Beastmaster, I guess..

Monks are badass not far into SoA.. true class rangers are very, very good.

For single classes Rangers and Paladins are unique in that they get Armor of Fath, Hardiness and can use Defender of Easthaven.
That is 85% physical resistance that actually lasts as long as you need it to.. you can facetank anything with that, for extended periods of time.

None of these are really super-weak because they all have stealth. I picked Beastmaster because the lack of weapon proficiencies means you can't use some of the cooler weapons. They do get to use bows and staffs though, so even they aren't terrible. An elf Beastmaster can be badass with bows and there are a lot of special staves you can use on different enemies. The one that can one-shot golems is cool and the various elemental staves can be powerful as well.

A Beastmaster is quite good if you dual-class them to cleric after they get Animal Summoning 3. Normally Animal Summoning 3 is a 6th-level spell, but Beastmasters can cast it as a 3rd-level spell. This might not be a big deal when you're just a ranger with very few 3rd-level spell slots, but if you dual-class to cleric, you get a bunch of 3rd-level spell slots and you can spam this 6th-level spell while only using 3rd-level spell slots.

Sorry but all 3 of these classes are pretty good in my opinion.

I've done a SoA/TOB run using a protagonist as a Monk and Beastmaster in the past and they were both fine.

The title is misleading! It suggests a role-playing answer; which is, to me, a much more interesting question.
Seriously you can win the game with any character class. And I'm not talking about using tons of cheats or using EEKeeper to make the character invincible before you even start. Good gameplay, sound tactics, and a good team makes any character a force to be reckoned with.
But if the question is what class is the worst to role-play? I'd say for me, wild mage or jester. I like silly and funny. But I like a main hero who takes the work of helping people seriously. Or seriousish anyway...

It depends on your play style I guess.

My first ever solo trilogy run was with a Monk. I consider them pretty strong. I would put any specialist mage up their instead - but I’d reckon thats just me.

So since you did ask: I consider mages weak and stupid. Not an opinion but a fact….
(Well I guess that correctly meta played and sleep spamming, they do find their niche - but I just dont like them…)

If you find some other class as weakest of game, ill add it up.

The point of this thread is to share what class is weakest to you personally.

Ah, if the point was to find out which class people find the weakest then I need to change my vote. After the poison was nerfed, I find the assassin very lackluster myself. A painfully slow progressing thief with a special power that isn't nearly as special anymore...

Monk better fits into 'the best class' poll. Late game monk is a one-man army that rarely anything can beat. I mean, how many characters can kill Kangaxx's demi-lich form in one round before he even has a chance to do a howl?

Ranger and Beastmaster get Whirlwind and Hardiness eventually. Nothing that has Whirlwind and Hardiness can be considered weak(er than any other class).

I'd probably go with a Shadowdancer. Or Transmuter (this bloke cannot protect themselves, they are probably dead as we speak).

Of the three in the poll I went with Beastmaster as the weakest, but is it thought? Of the warrior classes it may be, not by a great deal though I wouldn’t think. I like the idea of one dualed to cleric for the monster summoning, never thought of that. Then again Skellie Warriors after the cleric class gets above lvl 15 are hard to beat for a lvl 3 spell slot.

Weakest class in the game, hands down, Grizzly Bear. The constant waiting for him to catch up is maddening. That being said, I LOVED playing Wilson. I did a cleric/mage poverty run once with just Wilson as a companion, it was one of the most fun runs I have ever had. Disappointing that I messed up a no-reload in the Balthazar fight on that run. Improved Haste on the lvl 40 Grizzly Bear is just a smile producing, life affirming, good time. Anyway, no items for Wilson makes him squishy in ToB and Grizzly Bear is not a playable main character class so…

Am afraid I am going to have to go with Assassin as well. Assassin dualed to Cleric after getting UAI is a difficult play through for an awful, sizable part of SoA but is my favorite solo character. Single class Assassin though is just not really exceptional at all imo and doesn’t really bring much to the table in ToB.

if you think about it, so many kits get so many buffs that the base classes are now the worst picks.

I agree completely with this. One reason why I think kits should never be allowed to dual or multi
