You must do a clean install and reapply the mods, as sad as it is. But I have many mods and it did work fine. The android/data folder fortunately is now open for business, even after writing to it. You can use the new method of the accessible data folder and import in game, or you can still apply the mods directly to the data files via shizuku the old way also. I had to manually stick baldur.lua in there for some reason and didn’t want to wait for the import button in options again. Don’t panic, it works.

Have you got mods with dialog.tlk edits working on android my bro?

Indeed so. No obb manipulation was required. As long as your modded dialog.tlk has the correct folder structure, and is zipped without compression, in the folder with the other override, portraits, etc folders. I don’t know that a centralfix.exe pass on the zip is needed or not, but I did it anyway. Probably is? But it does work, a loose lang/en_US/dialog.tlk did not.

I’m just super jazzed that every time I change mods I don’t have to nuke my old saves. Thanks devs!

Damn I've been trying to get this to work and keep getting invalid dialogue. Does the lang zip begin with the 'lang' folder itself or do you zip the contents up? Can't get it to work myself.
  • wetzlarwetzlar Member Posts: 8
Yeah the dialog.tlk inside lang/en_us/ and zip the whole lang folder itself without compression in store mode which is crucial. Are you placing the file directly with shizuku or importing via the in game button?

yup using the new import button. Just tried with centralfix and still invalid. i wonder if its an issue with samsung maybe?? will keep experimenting!

Thanks for the help bro, much appreciated, which mods did you get working btw? maybe the ones im using need an update or something.

I got tired of waiting and decided to reinstall. I can make up the progress to Dragon's Eye if need be. Sadly even reinstalling the latest version doesn't fix anything: the game crashes instantly on running it. Managed to capture the following screenshot. Looking at the Android Play Store reviews, I'm not the only one with these problems.

@JuliusBorisov Let me know how I can submit a bug report if it will help you guys get it back up and running.

I'm playing on PC, to be clear.

Started reinstalling now. I've had trouble with this process in the past, even without the added complication of updating game versions, so I'm not necessarily expecting much. I do at least appear to have a fairly comprehensive list of the install order I'd used last time. Maybe that will be enough.

Yo! sorry to bug you again my bro, just wondering did you get anything working with BG2? I got BG1 working good using the method above but currently cant seem to solve BG2.

We heard back from Apple after requesting additional help with the review process: the submission was denied because they don't like the trailer that was uploaded there in 2014: "Includes framing around the video screen capture of the app".

Yeah this is all BG2, I haven’t tried with BG1 tbh

I was thrilled to hear the latest patch was out for android, that could enable users to store save files to any folder, so I put my saves for bg2 EE in a different folder. I then sent these to my new Android phone, set that up to the same folder, but when I start the game from the load screen they are not there.
Also one strange thing is when I installed the game on my new phone it had saves on there, but from only chapter 3, whereas I'm currently on chapter 5.
I've tried reinstalling at least 4 times and it still does the same thing😂

@JuliusBorisov I can confirm the beta version works at least up till Kuldahar Pass, however I've noticed some odd behaviour: all my level ups so far have applied Maximum Hit Points, despite that fact that I disabled that option in my settings. Are you aware of any such bug? It bothers me somewhat because I don't want my characters to be overpowered for the stage they're at... I'm playing on Insane with Difficulty-based XP off.

Also is there any way to stop my Android file system being flooded with in-game images and resources?

Hi everyone, Achievement and stats syncing on the Xbox PC app seems completely broken. This has been happening for a few days now, even before the July 1st update. Basic achievements like 'On My Own' (leaving Candlekeep) aren't unlocking, and tracked stats for gold collected, enemies defeated, and spells cast aren't updating or reflecting progress at all. Hopefully, this can be hotfixed soon.

Thanks for the report. We've reproduced the issue and will submit a fix.

The 2.7.3.1 PC Gamepass build with the Achievements fix should appear on the Xbox app now.

We'll need to fix the issue with the trailer and resubmit.

You're right about this point, but it's a totally unintentional behaviour. However, there is a workaround: you can add a .nomedia file to a directory--subdirectories/files will be ignored by media browsers (Photos, Gallery). You may need to reboot and allow the media scan in the background Eg, /Documents/IcewindDale/.nomedia

We'll include a proper fix in the future version.

As for maximum HPs, are you sure this is the case? For example, I see someone with 13 HP in your screenshot, is it really the maximum she could gain (considering it's an uneven number)?

I haven't found any previous comments about this bug.

Thanks for the workaround, I've also realised thanks to it that I could have backed up my old saves from the same folder, d'oh! 😖

Never mind. Regarding the HP, your comment made me load an earlier save and check carefully, I think there may be a further calculation bug as well, regarding multiclass characters.

    Example 1: Fighter/Druid levels 1/1, Con 18.
    Should have (10 + 4 + 8 + 2) / 2 = 12 HP
    Actually has 13HP:
    lddlshjjuj7c.png

    Example 2: Fighter/Cleric level 1/1, Con 19.
    Should have (10 + 5 + 8 + 2) / 2 = 12.5 --> 12 HP
    Actually has 14HP:
    ax3ey8vxxc8w.png

    Example 3: Fighter/Thief level 1/2, Con 17.
    Should have (10+3 + (6+2) * 2) / 2 = 14.5 -> 14HP, assuming Max HP per level.
    Actually has 16HP:
    7h5lo05q4p95.png

This calculation bug seems to be limited to multiclass characters.

Instead two of my single class characters have had max HP on reaching level 2:
    - Paladin 18Con party leader
    - Invoker 16Con slot 5

Finally the bard in slot 6 had, at level 2, the max of 8HP and at level 3 strangely just 6HP. So 3 out of 4 level ups were maxed, and the remaining one in the upper half. Is this a case of something like the NWN-style rolls (anything less than half a Hit Die is rerolled) from one of the tweak mods?

The way multiclasses (2 classes) calculate their HP is half the HP value of each class plus CON bonuses. The CON bonuses only apply for one class, not for both (whichever gets the most). So a Warrior multi with 18 CON will have a +4 HP bonus, while non-warrior multis will only have +2.

    Fighter/Druid CON 18
    5+4+4=13

    Fighter/Cleric CON 19
    5+4+5=14

    Fighter/Thief CON 17
    5+3+3=11

Each time you level up the class that gains the level gets the corresponding HP + 1/2 the CON bonuses. That F/D will gain +7 HP when the Fighter part levels up and +6 when the Druid part levels up for example.

If it's easier you can also add the base HP totals and divide by 2. and then add the CON bonuses.

    F/D CON 18
    (10+8)/2=9+4=13

    Fighter/Cleric CON 19
    (10+4)/2=9+5=14

    Fighter/Thief CON 17
    (10+6)/2=8+3=11

When the Fighter part of the F/D levels up he will gain (10/2)+(4/2)=7 while the Druid part (8/2)+(4/2)=6

For triples you just add the base HP for each class, divide by 3 and then add the CON bonuses (rounded up).

This is true until you hit their max HD, after that you just get fixed HP gains (from whichever class has the highest).

This is all assuming you have the "MAX HP" option enabled in the games, otherwise HP rolls on level up are randomized using the class HD. Lvl1 is always at max HP in the EEs.

Wow, thanks! It seems I've misunderstood this calculation years ago. I guess I was mixing it up with the true AD&D approach. In particular I didn't realise the same (better) bonus was applied to all classes in the multi.

Still 3 out of 4 level ups being maxed and the final one being a 4 on a d6 seems overly high to me. I'll keep playing a bit more and see if the trend holds.
