Android v2.7.3.2 - Custom dialog.tlk override bug for newly added language folders (e.g., ja_JP)

Hi everyone,

I found a specific, path-routing bug in the Android version of Icewind Dale EE (v2.7.3.2) regarding how the engine overrides the dialog.tlk file from the user directory (Android/data/.../files/lang/).

Note: I am Japanese and not very good at English, so I am using an AI tool to help write this post. I hope it makes sense!

The Problem
It seems the executable does not have a routing path to check the "user folder" for newly added languages (like ja_JP). However, it still checks them for older legacy languages like en_US or ko_KR.

Even though with a weird Japanese cache bug, my Test 2 proved an native Japanese, so my Android system language is set to Japanese.

Test 1: Putting custom tlk into /files/lang/ja_JP/
  1. Set the in-game language to Japanese.
  2. Loaded a save file. -> Result: It only loads the default tlk from the OBB.
  3. Reloaded the save file. -> Result: Still only loads from the OBB. The user directory is completely ignored.

Test 2: Putting custom tlk into /files/lang/ko_KR/ (Legacy language test)
  1. Set the in-game language to Korean.
  2. Loaded a save file. -> Result: Some Korean letters appear, but mostly it wrongly caches and displays the OBB's ja_JP text due to the system language priority bug.
  3. Reloaded the save file again. -> Result: The engine successfully updates the cache and loads my custom tlk from /files/lang/ko_KR/.

Conclusion
The code that tells the engine to check /files/lang/{LANG}/ for custom user overrides is missing or hardcoded incorrectly for the newer language folders like ja_JP.

For now, the only workaround for us to use custom translations is to disguise them as en_US or ko_KR and load the save file twice.

I hope the developers can fix this path-routing leak in the next patch!
