92 Roll F/M/C

Build crafting idea.

You roll a 92, but you can only place points in descending order 18, 17, 16, 15, etc. No double or triple 18s.

How would you allocate those scores with a fighter/mage/cleric?

Or any other class for that matter. It'd be interesting to hear reasons for different point spreads

    Interesting build challenge.
For the F/M/C I would say 18 Intelligence, 17 Wisdom, 16 Dexterity, 15 Constitution, 14 Charisma, 12 Strength. Or I might flip the Wisdom and Dexterity.
I assume this for the full Bhaalspawn saga. Of all the scores, Strength is the easiest to just keep boosted ALL the time (between potions, Gauntlets and Girdles). Intelligence maybe doesn't need the 18, but it will help with learning spells from the start. Wisdom provides bonus Priest spells and the Dexterity helps with armor class and missile "to hit" bonus.
The lower Charisma does mean you'll pay a cost penalty at the start, but ultimately money is not in short supply.

I would mention, I am categorically NOT a power gamer. I don't particularly care what the "best" answer is. But I would like the character we just created.

I think you can live with lower intelligence on that build. Potions of genius and mind focusing are available right at the start at the FAI and there's more than enough if you use them strategically. I'd also say it's not even an issue until level 3, since you can all the initial level one spells you might want at character creation. And think about how long into BG1 level three is on such a character. Even less of an issue in BG2, with plentiful potions and scroll copies. So long as your intelligence isn't trash, it's fine.

So I'd prioritize Wisdom over Intelligence, personally. The opportunity to get 21 at the end of BG1 is there, and really those level one and level two priest spells are excellent, a very nice boost to have right out of the gate. 21 Wisdom is key point for an extra fifth level spell, 22 from Lum's Machine for a second such spell.

Constitution tends to be the hardest of the physical skills to boost regularly. Fewer potions and fewer items that give a boost. So I might prioritize getting a least a 15 or 16 there. Dexterity is the tricky one where it depends on your planned party composition, whether someone else needs the dex gauntlets. Alot of ideal BG1 party setups really do require a frontline companion to hog the gauntlets--Kagain, Ajantis, Yeslick, for example.

So I'd go more 18 Wisdom, 17 dexterity, 16 intelligence, 15 constitution. Charisma and Strength it's meh. As Dave says, Strength potions and items are plentiful. There is a case to be made for high charisma as Friends scrolls drop plenty from early BG1 mobs, and, again, using them strategically, you can get massive discounts and unlock transformative early gear.

You'll probably be doing a bunch of sling and shield on this character in BG1 anyways, so weapon damage output isn't necessarily a huge priority, unless you're a solo run. I'd probably focus on defensive spells from mage combined with disabling spells from priest in the early levels, with that probably reversing a bit in the later levels.

Really stats matter alot alot alot in early BG1, pre-city area. The items are truly limited, the companions too. The scariest challenges are road ambushes that are impossible to prepare for, so you have to rely on your raw stats to survive. The stats are less important as you progress through the saga. So I'd be building mainly to worry about the early BG1 content first and foremost. Keep in mind that your wizard spell progression is going to be very slow and limited in BG1. Topping out at level 3 spells.
