I'm going to shift this over to the Off Topic forum, but that doesn't mean I'm not nerdgasming right now.

...Probably a poor choice of words. But yeah.

A tabletop game? I'll pass. One of the reason I enjoy video games so much, is that you don't need other people to play/enjoy them. It does look like it could be neat though.

    Nice try.
I really wish to play it someday, I mean when it's done.

If it's another Star Wars I'm gonna pass, which it sounds like one. I'll stick with Eclipse Phase when it comes to Sci-Fi.

First Concept Image For PlaneScape: Torment Sequel Revealed

Don't worry if you think the next Torment game will follow the lighter art style of the Numenera setting, this concept art proves otherwise.

The much-adored PlaneScape: Torment will be getting a successor, that much is known but while work on the new Torment game has begun, it's still early days for the project.

Even so, that hasn't stopped fans on the internet voicing their concerns over the art style of the game.

Expected to be set in the Numenera setting - a pen and paper RPG setting that had been funded through Kickstarter - many Torment fans were worried that the next Torment game might be opting for a much lighter art style.

Considering the dark atmosphere of PlaneScape: Torment, such fears would be valid if that wasn't the case at all.

The first concept image of the new Torment game proves it's a much darker affair than Numenera's lighter setting, while Brian Fargo confirmed to NowGamer that the game will certainly stay true to PlaneScape: Torment's darker approach.

    first concept image: http://nowgamer.net-genie.co.uk/siteimage/scale/0/0/351822.gif

The Bloom, as Fargo puts it, is "a literally living city whose grasping tendrils creep through other dimensions". Sounds like PlaneScape: Torment to us.

Ever since the release of BG:EE, it's been like a new age of gaming.

I'd say since the boom of Steam and Kickstarter.

Mostly Kickstarter, that showed the market there's a massive demand for in-depth, thoughtful RPG's. Steam started booming years ago, only recently did the indie games really make a rise.
Steam's more recent dedication to bringing indie games to the forefront of their Store, as well as Gog opening up a seperate section of their site for them, also helps though. I see good times for gaming.

Steam began with mostly old game titles, which I really liked, but yeah great times for gaming.
