[Bug] Weight throwing axes

Picking up throwing axes (20) addes 5*20 lbs to encumberment (so one stack of 20 throwing axes weighs 100 lbs).
I presume that the 5lbs in the item description is regardless of the quantity of a single stack (a single stack should always weigh 5 lbs regardless of quantity).

This is on the Steam version.

    That's not a bug.

Throwing (hurled) weapons like axes and daggers receive additional bonuses to damage (Str adj.) that arrows, bolts, and darts do not receive. The throwing weapons need some type of penalty to offset the bonuses they receive.

Plus, axes are a handheld weapon, where arrows, bullets, etc. are ammo. Ammo has no weight. Axes are not ammo.

I don't think so, @tiaxanderson. It was that way in original BG1+2 as well, throwing axes weigh 5 lbs. each axe, not each stack ... so carrying a worthwhile supply is feasible only for high-STR characters such as Dorn or Minsc (and only useful if you give them a proficiency in axes). In general, throwing axes are rather a waste of space in BG1 ... although if your Charname is a half-orc Fighter with natural 19 STR and is allocated ** in axes at creation, then they might make a lot of sense as his ranged weapon (especially now that Thunderhammer sells an unlimited quantity of +1 throwing axes, which is a BG:EE innovation).

However, throwing axes become a much more practicable option in BG2, where there are magical throwing axes which return to your hand when thrown, so you only need to carry one. And a couple of them have excellent bonus effects as well, so they're very useful.

The other real nice thing about axes is that grand mastery is easy to achieve since you don't have to waste pips on a ranged weapon.

Cheat in a "bag31" for weightless axes, cuz it makes no sense that axes disappear when thrown. In real life I pick up arrows too. But itsa game, and collecting litter is not good entertainment.

Wasn't it ADND that gave dwarfs proficiency in throwing beer mugs? Would be nice if other weapons could be thrown and effortlessly retrieved after the battle. "Loot All" button.
