Backing up the game

Hi,
As one of those old people who dislike digital downloads and like to be able to hold things in their hands, I'd like to create a DVD copy of the game (it's legitimate! I am not a pirate!).
I understand I can copy the game directory to a DVD and it will work as it doesn't really integrate itself into Windows. But will it still need an internet connection? What if the Beamdog servers crumble to dust?
I suppose what I'm wondering is = in the event of a zombie apocalypse, will I still be able to play the game?? ;-)
(Yes, I do have tutu etc, so its not that much of a concern. Zombies or no zombies).

Anyway you can backup your installation path\0766 folder to a DVD or any other device if you to keep a backup copy.
