When I was in high school, I would have chosen imprisonment and cast it on unpopular teachers. Although after guilt would struck me, I would have to search for a guy who picked freedom spell. Nowadays I'd go with time stop.
i would choose spell trap, because in theory every 9 levels of spells i absorb i would be able to cast spell trap again, so i could potentially be invincible to all offensive spell casters out there
that is incredibly difficult. Cure disease would be amazing, you could assure you and anyone you love would die of natural causes.
However there are many other options, friends (allowing you to communicate brilliantly would aid you almost everyday) and invisibility (could be interesting however I would turn to stealing, I think invisibility would have a negative effect on your personality) or improved haste (move around quickly, good for a boxer or any other fighting sport, or for Olympics or if you miss the bus).
I think some other interesting choices would be healing spells, Draw Upon holy Might, dire charm, protection from physical or elemental damages depending if you want to be a fire fighter or policeman, time stop.
I personally would with cure disease, because I could be subtle with it and help people I love. I think choosing something like charm or friends I would regret it if I or my loved ones contracted cancer or any other life threatening disease.
Cure disease is a good one, but if that's on the tably, why not go for Greater Restoration, which also heals all wounds and cures insanity and removes any ability drain ?
Do spell visuals also show up? Because in that case there's a good reason to take Cure Disease instead; it doesn't have a giant column of light crash down on whoever you cast it on. Might raise a few questions.
Gate. Cast it as far as you can in the middle of a crowd, then run away.
Then hold the world at ransom and demand billions each week or I'll do it again. Then maybe donate all that money to various charity organizations, and thus fix everything through fear.
What is the advantage of Charm or Dire Charm over Domination? It seems like Domination is just a better, more likely to work and less likely to break verison of the same spell in BG.
Charm person doesn't necessarily leave people aggressive towards you after it wears off. In fact if you are subtle about it they may not even know they were charmed.
Domination gives you more control over their actions, but they are going to know they got charmed and will likely be pretty angry once it wears off. In game this has pretty much no implications, but in real life it would matter.
Greater restoration or Resurrection would be useful and potentially incredibly profitable depending on how mercenary with it you are.

In BG, all three spells turn the object hostile - charm person, dire charm, and dominate (at least testing on tutors in Candlekeep had this reaction). For PnP, I could understand making a distinction but it seems like for BG that the major difference is just the saving throw.
A lot of these spells are going to vary in similar ways from BG to PnP versions.
Silence. If you knew my neighbors, you'd understand.
How about imprisonment
Gets me nowhere. The guy who likes to watch porn at the volume of Motorhead concerts doesn't leave the house, ever. He already imprisoned himself, I just need a way to also contain the noise.

Can I target a TV with it? Actually, Knock would already help, because whenever someone calls the cops to make him turn the TV off, they have to kick in the door and find the guy sleeping. In front of the TV you can hear two houses away to each side. Silence would allow me to discreetly fix it without anyone asking questions, and it would also take care of the bar with the notoriously open windows and exactly one Top 40 Hits CD from 1976. So versatile if you live in a noisy place...

If you couldn't target everything in silence's limited radius (especially given its limited duration and the once a day ability)....
I don't think his appartment or the bar is larger than the area Silence covers. The question is, how *high* is the area, not how *wide*. I could cast it when I want to sleep. Once I sleep, I sleep and it won't wake me up if it gets loud. Deafness would mean I wouldn't hear my own music or TV, phone or alert.

Do you encounter offensive spell casters often?
Although having my own undead army with Animate Dead is the winner.
Me: "What do you think to go to the cinema together?"
Crush: "Nope"
Charme ---->
Me: What do you think to go to the cinema together?"
Crush: "Only if i can pay also your ticket sweety"

My choice would probably be charm person.

Deafness would work even better.
I would choose Wish. It can duplicate any 8th level or lower spell without a risk + I will master it step by step. No "greedy" wishes.
Wish is a very dangerous spell. Do you consider your wisdom to be very high? Otherwise you could destroy the world.
