Is it better to buy from Apple Store or buy from developer?

I just bought the game from the developer, however the BG launcher doesn't work, it always says "invalid username or password", I've deleted this file as per suggestion "com.overhaulgames.bgeeinstaller.plist" but the same thing still happens.

Is it the same install process if you buy from the Apple Store?

Looking at the forums, there seems to be a lot of problems with BG launcher and buying from the developer.

(I'm using a new Macbook Air OSX 10.8.2) If anybody can help that wold be really be appreciated!

    @rexxar As I said in your other post contact support@beamdog.com to solve this problem. Anyway I'll summon @Dee to take a look.

    Thank you for your response, for some reason it suddenly worked. Maybe it was something to do with my ISP, I don't know, but anyway thank you for your prompt response and assistance.
