Unkitted thief or a kit unique to her. Chaotic? Almost lives by a lawful set of rules, though. If someone resolves to be chaotic, is that lawful? It could be interpreted either way.
They probably stuck to their guns on keeping her evil. Changing her alignment would mean rewriting her character.

Hexxat:I wouldn't say that I'm a unique kit, although I'm not sure what you'd call companions like Mazzy. Besides. What makes me *me* goes beyond my stats. Lots of players took mechanically suboptimal companions with them because they enjoyed their banters and the way that the characters bought the world around them to life, filling their choices with consequence and their decisions with validation and scorn in equal measure. That's what makes a person truly worth taking on your adventures, in my opinion, not a set of numbers most people who play the game don't truly understand.
Hexxat:Just wait until you hear me start to speak. You'll fall in love with me instantly.
Dorn:Or drive a blade through your heart and save us all the trouble.
Imoen:You're a real cheery guy, Dorn, you know that?
Dorn:I'm a reflection of the life that's been given to me. I am what I am and make no apologies for it. You should learn from me, child.
Hexxat:And regarding my alignment? These kind of things are really quite tricky. For example, Kagain is evil, but he's really done little to earn that label. He could easily be neutral and nobody would be able to tell the difference. So why's he evil?
Dorn:You confuse outward appearance with the machinations of the heart, Hexxat. A person may be outwardly trustworthy, and righteous, but that is just smoke and mirrors. Below their skin might well beat the dark, twisted heart of a depraved man barely restrained. We are more than our actions; we are our thoughts, too, and some of us have dark ones indeed.
Hexxat:... and then the creepy orc says it better than I can. If I am evil -- and I'd certainly not want to confirm such a thing -- it's not because I necessarily act evil, although certainly Viconia and Dorn wear those labels with pride. Some of us are more... subtle. Our true hearts only come out to play when they're given a chance to play without consequences.
Dorn:Such cowardice is pathetic.
Edwin:Agreed. (A rare act of itself...) Why would you hide behind lies and falsehoods? I wear the red robes of the Wizards of Thay openly. I fear no consequences for my actions. Neither you should you.
Hexxat:I've survived a long time on my wits, Edwin. The more you tell someone about yourself the more power they have over you.
Rasaad:I disagree. I think that the best way to truly know someone is to cast away your masks -- let your soul be bared to the moonlight, and let your true self be known as often as possible. I have rarely concealed my honest thoughts on a matter, and when I did -- such as allowing my brother to think he was the better of us -- it was to everyone's ultimate detriment. There can be no long term gain in dishonesty.
Viconia:I can barely believe I'm saying this, but... I actually agree. Why hide behind false pretences? I wear a hood to mask my face, and to keep the blasted, accursed sun from burning my eyes from their sockets, but is just a matter of practicality. Truly I would prefer to throw back my hood and walk on the surface openly. Let the surface rivel fear me -- I do not fear them.
Minsc:And I as well! Minsc's face is far too handsome to be hidden underneath a piece of cloth, and such things could not conceal my bulk in any event. Besides, Boo would want to come up for air and a bite of cheese every now and again. See how his nose twitches at the very thought?
Dorn:You and that rodent. I swear, one day...
Hexxat:I guess what I'm trying to say is that someone's alignment is more a guideline than an absolute rule. People are complicated creatures and it's hard to sum up every single personality type as a spot on a three-by-three grid, you know? No matter what my inner heart says about good or evil, what makes me interesting is far beyond that.
If this thread is trying to put me off buying BG2:EE it's doing an excellent job...
I hope whoever wrote the character didn't have anything to do with these responses!
i cat believe it, you gato be kitten me right meow... i think this stuff is awesome, i get sucked into the banter like it was the actual game... i could read this all day. pretty accurate to the characters too. obviously a true BG fan making this.

I like it too. Granted, some of the responses are exaggerated but that's partly the point of this thread I guess. My only concern is the "real" Hexxat will not live up to my expectations after this thread.

Hexxat:Awesome. Glad to hear it!
Hexxat:Also... kitten me? Meow? Hex-cat? Took me a second but I got it!
Okay, sorry to be a downer, but I've received a bunch of questions about this and there's some misconception floating around.
@Sasayaki does not represent Overhaul, and has no access to privileged information regarding Hexxat. Anything said in this thread is the product of his/her imagination and is purely for fun. In future, if anything like this occurs we would really appreciate it if forum members could make a clear distinction that what they are writing is fan-based and has no official basis.

Our suspension of disbelief has been suspended I guess.

ha! well thats how you know youve done somthing right! but as ive read so far, there were no actual content hints or suppositions. all answers seem to dodge answering. as it should be from a thief.
I'm kinda shocked some people thought this was real...
i know right? to a point where they had to ask a dev. crazy. but this thread is still awsome, you know your doing it right when you need a special notation from a developer
Hexxat:More seriously, I guess it depends on how nicely you ask.
Would you romance me? Here's my picture.
Hexxat:Maybe. Beauty's only skin deep.
Viconia:Yes, but what gorgeous skin. That corset reminds me of home.
Hexxat:Being pretty is one thing, but I view a romance like picking a flower and taking it into your home. What draws you in might be the flower's bright colours, but to remain in your flower pot -- so to speak -- requires more than simply looking nice. This is why I prefer comparing potential romantic partners to potatoes.
Jan Jansen:Potatoes? Are you sure you don't mean-
Hexxat:I know what I mean.
Hexxat:I don't like getting flowers as a gift. I think they're superficial and stupid. Flowers are essentially the reproductive organs of plans, so when people give them to me, they're basically saying... "When I think of you, I think of your ability to reproduce. That and your physical appearance." The problem is... when a flower wilts and fades, you throw it away. It has no other value to you.
Hexxat:However, a potato is much more versatile. It can keep for *years*. It's edible and tasty, if cooked properly. You can ferment it to make alcohol. It requires no real effort to store, just a cool, dry shelf to rest upon.
Jaheira:And you can plant them in the ground, creating new life. That's much better symbolism than the fading beauty of flowers. I would treasure such a gift and view it in the manner it was intended.
Hexxat:Exactly! Potatoes send a much better message than flowers. They say that I value you for your skills, your abilities, and your hardiness even in the face of adversity. If you're a potato, you're a keeper.
Aerie:That is so sweet, I think I might cry.
Minsc:Boo is even potato shaped, if held in the right way. The metaphor applies to the world's greatest miniature space hamster as well!
Dorn:Are you saying we can cook and eat him?
Minsc:I would like to see you try, you green lump of blacky blackguardness! Lay even a single finger upon Boo and my witch will turn you inside out! Twice!
Aerie:My magic can't really turn people inside out. At least, I hope not.
Edwin:Limits to one's arcane energies. Pah. (A perfect example of why Edwin is the greatest wizard in all of Thay...)
Hexxat:Anyway. Yes. Look. The bottom line is... I think you're pretty, nobody can deny that, and there's a certain allure about you that's hard to place. But I'm more complicated than that, and we'd have to really get to know each other before anything like that happened. I don't trust easily.
Rasaad:Why not? You seem like a bright soul, although there is a darkness around the edges. You are a half-moon... one part silver, one part clouded in shadow.
Hexxat:That's probably the nicest thing anyone's ever said to me.
It might be clear to regular forum-goers, but we have a lot of casual forum-goers who don't necessarily know that only blue-tinged posts are from Overhaul developers.

Hexxat:That's right. As I posted earlier, what's real is... a little harder to quantify than one might expect.

well you should give this person a job! this stuff is entertainment GOLD. in my opinion. have you read this stuff liam? its very true to the characters and there interactions, race, religious affiliations, backgrounds, and general personalities. amazing.

I suppose I want to be clear about this, so I'm dropping character for a moment. I don't work for Overhaul. I am, in fact, just a bored novelist waiting for BG2:EE to come out so I can see the new stuff for myself.
I don't have access to the BG2:EE beta, nor do I have any information about Hexxat (or any other content in BG2:EE), except that which is publicly available. I, in no way, represent Beamdog or Overhaul Games and nothing I say can be taken as canon.

How can you not trust me when I'm a paladin? - by definition, I represent honor and virtue. I also have 18 charisma (probably 19 by the time we'll meet), and I...

Ah, fudge it! Viconia, are you free tonight?
Hexxat:Charisma isn't everything. Keldorn's got a tonne of charisma and he's a total stick in the mud. Dorn's got heaps too and he's just creepy. Whereas Minsc... he's kind of nice.
Neera: Exactly. I think that things are more complicated than simply having high charisma.
Hexxat:Also... eww. Paladins. Kind of gross, if you ask me.
Neera: Oh, come on. They're not so bad! Right guys?
Viconia:Boring.
Dorn:Foolish.
Edwin:Tedious. (And self-righteous to boot...)
Hexxat:Look. Would I date a paladin? Mmm -- maybe I'd let one lay on hands me, if you know what I mean, after a few drinks... but I don't know how far things could go. Can paladins even, you know...
