Gifting the Game

in Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition
I want to gift BG:EE to someone, but they don't have Steam and I doubt they'll want to make a beamdog account. Is there any special protocol I would need to follow, or would giving him the standalone installer be enough?

    Your friend will still need to make a Beamdog account (it only takes a couple minutes) in order to use the Beamdog client or the launcher. The alternative is the buy from Steam and gift the game directly to their account.

    You can also buy the game via Steam and have the code sent them via email.

    By "They don't have Steam" I mean "They don't have Steam and they're not going to get Steam ever"

    We'll more than likely be going the Beamdog route.

    When you get to the checkout screen, check the box "Send as a gift", and enter your friend's email address. When you complete the purchase we'll send an email with a redemption code to the email address you provided, along with instructions on how to redeem it.
