Perforated location icons on map (Mac OS X 10.9 - current version)

Hi,

the map looks awful. I see perforated icons. I don't know how I create a screenshot, but I found some images with Google that shows the problem (I do not seem to be the only). It looks as if the black color is missing:

This is a little bit dynamic. Sometimes I see it as like the picture (very perforated) and sometimes few black points are missing only...

PS: I miss the painted north-south street from the old map. In the story this road often happens (in conversations). Therefore, they should also be present on the map. This is the main road of this realm!

By the way: The new map with that striking yellow background and the scribbled coast-line is not a sight for sore eyes...

That map of the Sword Coast is not something that was ever used in the game. It is something that some third party created as a reference, using the in-game map as a resource but adding a redone compass, recolored water, a scroll border, and the road. I don't believe that the EE makes any changes to the map (aside from new areas, possibly) from the original game.

I have had this happen to me several times before. Without exception it happens right after I use EEKeeper and it goes away on its own after a while. @Troodon80 Why would EEKeeper do this anyway?

@Tresset, since Keeper only edits characters and does not touch areas or other files, there is no reason why Keeper should be the cause of it. I have never had this issue, so I cannot even begin to guess. Edit: is Keeper still running when you get this issue? Perhaps it's a read/write issue from where Keeper scans for the files.

@Troodon80 Keeper is not still running when I notice this. It just seems to happen every time I load a save file edited by keeper. Hmm, actually this doesn't seem to happen to me anymore. It happened a lot when I was still using shadowkeeper though.

I have the same issue here. Although I am now playing with a Keeper-modified save game due to a bug in Safanas quest, I am pretty sure that this occured also before the editing.

@Tresset, I found another topic from the Road to v1.2 category, but still no closer to figuring out what's wrong.
