Most Difficult Solo Run?

What class do you guys think would be the hardest to do a solo run with? I realize that it's POSSIBLE with any class, a friend and I were debating which would cause some gray hairs though. I suggested a unmodded Shapeshifter, he thinks a non-Blade bard. Let me know your thoughts!

    Yeah, that sounds tedious. Large handicap for barely any payoff. Haha, I hadn't even thought of the WS, it's like a bad memory that I brush off. Solid point.

    A wizard with 1/1/1/1/1/1.
    He can't even casts spells because of how tables are made.
    Edit: possible by the game? Huh? 9/3/3/3/3/3 Wizard Slayer.

    Haha, torture! Didn't consider stat gimping, that adds a whole new angle. Better start farming potions. Wizard with straight 1s and first pip in daggers so he can't even handle a sling. Biggest derp on the Sword Coast. His heroic adventure ends whilst clearing rats out of a storeroom in Candlekeep.

    Use any Wand/Weapon plus spells like Mirror Image, Invisibility, Stoneskin and caster level 10?
    Am I missing something because that doesn't sound to hard?

    It would be tough in the beginning because as a non-blade your fighting skills would be quite lacking, and having only a couple casts at most, with no armor on is tough. The only thing that would ease the burden would be wands in the beginning.

    My vote is for Wizard Slayer. It needs some major buffs for its disadvantages. All they have is 1% magic resistance per level, and the cumulative spell failure on hits thing. The magic resistance is pretty lame considering, I believe, monks at higher levels has a much higher magic resistance.

    Solo Monk in BG2 is actually quite easy.
    In solo you level quickly and when you reach higher levels you get basically immune to everything (100MR is easy to reach, as is extremely low AC). If you add hide in shadows to fight only what you need/want, it's really not that hard

    In BG1 monk is weak but with your speed and hide in shadows you can actually easilty do hit and run tactics.

    Wizard slayer is by far the worst for me : only fighter with no items means you basically have no flexibility at all. The only thing you can do, is to hit the opponent and pray that he would die before you.

    I think Beast Master might struggle once enemies start throwing Death Spells...
    Shapeshifters are terrible.
    But Wizard Slayer probably takes this particular broken, soggy biscuit.

    Yeah, probably gonna have to give the WS the sad trophy for this, as far as a by-the-game charname. Halfling, too, so that 18/xx STR isn't even a bright spot. Unless you're going to be an evil god of sorts and give him min stats anyway. Give him clubs and darts maybe lol. This would be fun, if I ever needed more stress in my life.

    Lol, maybe mod in one of the Nashkel mine workers. Gray, emaciated man, shambling around, permanent Slow status. Wields a Rusty Pickaxe for 1d2 damage.

    Wizard Slayer sounds challenging, but the hardest part of the game is always the beginning. A Wizard Slayer is just a fighter who can't use magic items, and so the early parts are no harder. If you mix in the patch that applies the WS debuff to ranged weapons then you might even survive BG1.

    I'd argue for an unkitted Monk being very difficult. You can get a bit of ranged weaponry but they're just so flimsy throughout BG1 that I reckon you'd end up in all kinds of trouble. The only way to succeed would be to abuse the hell out of kiting.

    Can I add an honourable (or not) mention for the Fallen.
    Slow levelling fighters who are limited to specialisation...

    Ok, so a ranger could slightly offset that with the free dual wield pips, but one of their lightly armoured kits would still be tough. (I'm assuming class/kit disadvantages still pertain...)

    Edit: Fallen Beast Master... I'm looking at you...

    Are WS as weak in PnP as they are in BG? Was something lost in translation? There seems to be a consensus that they are an extremely weak class.

    I've fooled with them a bit and I think they work fine in a group - I think it's more of a perception of weakness because they can't use all the OP magical items floating around like everyone else can (except armor and weapons) - they still get all the advantages of the fighter class but with no one to buff them as a solo they are going to have a tough time in battles against multiple casters

    As an aside, none of the PnP games I've been a part of had near the level of magic item proliferation that you see in this, or really any other CRPG.
