IWDEE Party without a Bard

Hi,
this will be my first complete Run in IWD. I started a run half a year ago, with this team.

Fighter Dwarf (Tank)
Fighter Elf (Archer)
Fighter Dual Cleric
Fighter Dual Druid
Bard Halfelf
Thief/Illusionist

The team was okay, but the bard felt wrong. (Stopped Playing after Vale of Shadows)

For IWDEE i was on plannig to do something like this:

UD Hunter
Fighter Kit
Druid maybe Vanilla
Cleric Kit
Thief/Illu

I'm not sure about the last slot
Ranger Kit, Sorcerer or the bard

How much do i miss out on quests, etc. without a bard?

The Icewind games are both ones I'd never play without a bard. Nothing to do with quests or story and everything to do with having constant full party regeneration without requiring a cleric and never needing to waste spells on Identify.

I recommend taking a Druid kit... while not as rough as BG1 (...2nd lvl spells), the kits add substantial versatility. Avenger will add more arcane spells, which you will benefit from. They get very useful arcane spells, and their extra forms are a nice bonus.

A Bard would also be a nice utility character, since they can support by ranged, music (vanilla songs are great in IWD) and importantly, more arcane. One multi specialist is pretty light imho. If you take an Avenger, you could take the Ranger maybe.

    Ok i get it.

What do you think about that party?:

    UD Hunter
    Berserker
    Fighter/Mage/Thief
    Avenger
    Cleric KIt
    Bard Vanilla

    Is one/third thief enough?

I'm sure you can manage. I'd probably focus on Locks & Traps over all other thief skills first. The bard can handle Pickpocketing, and you can use spells to cover stealth if needed.
