(Mac OS X) BG2 EE Patch download ends after a few seconds

Hi,

When I recently wanted to start BG2 EE on my Macbook Pro, it stated downloading the most recent patch. The download speed starts picking up but drops after a few seconds of downloading, getting slower (down to a couple B/S) and finally stops completely and saying "Waiting for download to start", but never picks up again. When I quit the launcher and restart it, the same happens again. Per start I can download not more than half a MB, not to mention the entire patch size...
And yes, I have restarted the computer a couple of times, no improvement.

Can somebody help with this issue?

    What store did you purchased the game from, Apple / Beamdog /etc.

    & are you using residential broadband or trying to update through a corporate/educational connection that might have restrictions - a few reports of similar behaviour when that's the case.
