Original BG2 - mouse moves to upper left corner on its own

For the nostalgia I have installed the original BG2 with fixes. And It is working as it should. But all of a sudden every time I open the game, the mouse/cursor moves to the upper left corner of the screen and map. And I can't make it move back to other locations at all.

I am playing on a laptop and it does not help to change mouse (I have tried three different ones with no result). It does not help to disable the mousepad on the laptop either. And every other program have no mouse issues.

So how do I fix this? I could not find anything on this forum and I hope someone with superior pc skills will be able to help me.

    Is that with wireless mice, they (or their software) frequently caused this sort of issue in the original games.

    No the ones with wire. I think it's the old game being a bit buggy on its own due to age.

    But I can make it go away for a while with restarting the PC. I have become a master at saving games
