Halfling racial bonus with darts?

in Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition
In the past Halflings were receiving a +1 racial bonus with darts, as with slings. Is this still the case or was it removed in a later patch? Am wanting to do a Halfling Assassin build focused on darts and daggers.

    I can't see any reason for it to have changed. Why not test it?

    No racial bonus with darts, only with slings for halflings.

    I wonder what happened. I remember reading a thread in the past about it potentially being non-intended. Did the last patch remove this?

    Also, this discussion - https://forums.beamdog.com/discussion/20130/halfling-throwing-weapons-bonus - confirms it as well.

    It hasn't been changed since the time of those posts.

    Are you sure about that? The race description does not mention a bonus to darts or thrown weapons, only slings.

    Also, there isn't any bonus shown for it anywhere else, not in the inventory screen or the character sheet.

    Unless I have miscalculated something I don't think they have any attack bonus with darts. To test it I attacked Khalid with darts using my halfling assassin (thaco 17* -16 if they had any extra bonus-) against his 1 AC (0 against missiles) and I only hurt him with 17 or more, not 16 (which would be the needed result if I had some sort of hidden bonus).

    *+2 dexterity and +1 for being an assassin

    They do not seem to any longer show-up on the character record or during combat in BG:EE since the last patch.

    Do they apply in BG:EE 2?

    Appears to be the same; no bonus to darts.

    can confirm that racethac.2da shows no bonus in darts for halfling

    Just asking out of curiosity, why would halflings have a bonus to darts or slings? Surely both weapons rely on the arm's lever effect, and given that halflings by definition would have shorter than average arms.....

    I assume it has to do with rock pitching being a favourite sport among halfling children (which is brought up in the players handbook). So I guess its a result of years of doing that :)

    (it is an accuracy bonus rather than a damage bonus after all)

    Like many things in DnD, they are crudely based on J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle Earth. Hobbits (halflings) have a knack for throwing rocks, it's one of their favorite past times as kids and the precision becomes deadly after growing into adulthood. Translated into the game, they get a bonus with slings.

    Like I said, "crude".

    The mechanics of slinging a bullet are far removed from throwing a rock, and throwing a dart is much different than throwing a rock or using a sling.

    Thanks for taking the time to answer a trivial question - I'd missed the bit about rock throwing.
