Just for giggles

Finding a half-orc mage sprite meant it simply had to be used properly.

I present you

The fighter7->necromancer, she's strong on plow, her voice is booming deep and she indeed has the sleeves of wizard. She's vile, she's evil, she's uglier than Korgan's arse...and Anomen loves her with all his heart.

Interesting we have half-orc mages but can't choose one on creation screen. :/
    There are even dwarf mages.

Duergar mages in the game use dwarf mage paperdoll, if I am not mistaken.
Not even Reginald uses half-orc mage paperdoll, so it is a bit of a waste-space in the game.
Your fighter/mage dual will also not use mage paperdoll but use fighter one, instead. Though since you need eekeeper to dual anyway, you can fix it easily.

I actually created that char and play with it in my current playthrough, so yep, she's definitely mage-spritey :)

Cool! I want to play as a necromancer too, for the extra strong finger of death (-4 penalty to save!) but I just can not leave wild magic. 'They can not protect themselves if they don't know what is going to hit them!' is my motto, though I too also don't know what is going to hit them sometimes while casting reckless dweomers. :)

I think the only viable specialist mages are Conjurer (Edwin), Necromancer (and Xzar conveniently getting stabbed), Evoker (though on higher difficulties you are better off slicing and dicing instead of spellslinging I'd think) and Wild Mage (and I don't mind having Neera in group, she's fun and her quests likewise).

I was looking specifically for a reason for mage where I can justify high strength and combat prowess with sling. Finding half-orc sprite was a boon. 19 strength and 5 pips in sling, memorize some (necromantic) crowd control, some debuffs, some fingers and go for their eyes with pebbles. 16 intelligence needs one potion of genius to get 19, so no problem there either.

Let's hope it's not "Gems" or "Squirrels", eh? :)

I remember playing a charming (male) half-orc mage back in the day when NWN first came out. With the super easy editor I even created custom equipment to go with him, that was quite shamany (because that's what I imagined him to be, being young and foolish, then).

I miss him. How hard is this to do, if you have no prior Shadowkeeper experiences? (or dwarf, for the same matter; I'm running on Mac) Half-orc Wild Mage also seems to be a match made in heaven and, on top, not too hard to explain: There's already one in Neeras camp (I never ctrl + q'd him, to find out what he really is, but, at any rate, he doesn't use the doll.

    "What a woeful waste!"

@justtravelinthrough Keeper is easy to navigate through once you get the hang of it. The easiest way is to start the game as a wild mage of any race, it will help you omit an extra effect to memorize one extra spell per level (as that gets coded in upon creation only and is not an effect for whatever reason) as well as adding the wild mage-only spells manually.
Changing race, stats and sprite is a piece of cake afterwards and can be done in two first tabs of keeper.

For even easier manipulation, you can install bg2 tweakpack (should be for Mac somewhere too) and allow all classes and kits for all races. Then you can make a half-orc wildmage in creation screen

If the squirrel is from Easthaven, it could tank for you.

Dear sir. Please give me said portrait for use. I can't make a half orc mage but wow that's awesome for an orc portrait.... would work even as a cleric. ..

@Aewyrven You can literally save the very one I posted here, it's in 210x330 .bmp already. Just put it in the documents/Baldur's Gate II - Enhanced Edition/portraits folder

@Queegon mobile. I have to modify the size ON the mobile and half the time it goofs up. Plus I don't know if I can save it as a .BMP. no computer. I could muddle around doing it but the 30 secs it'd take using ms paint and upload would be far faster than me doing it with mobile apps.... yeah I know it can be done but... I'm asking... pweaseeeee? *batts eyes*

Yeah I know it can be done

Shadowkeeper (or rather, EEKeeper, because Shadowkeeper DOES NOT work with EE) only allows you to edit save games. That said, if you just want to edit your playthrough, go for it. It's very easy to use, I think.

I've messed around with EEKeeper, and it's pretty straight forward once you set up the file paths. The main consideration is making sure that the abilities are set to what they should be, since you may have to add some manually when you edit kits and multiclass options. The process itself isn't hard though, just something you should be thorough with if you're going for authenticity.

A good way to make sure you've copy/cut/pasted everything correctly is to make a character from the kit/class you want natively, so you can see how their abilities look at level 1 in EEKeeper.

The easier thing to do would probably be to download the BG2 tweakpack (which applies to all the EEs) from the Gibberlings 3, which has an option to remove race/class restrictions. It's just easy, just download the file, run it, and select your BGEE install location. Then it'll throw a million optional components at you, but you can just install the ones you want.
