Unable to upload images?

While trying to upload/add images to a post, in the meme thread for instance, 90% of the time I get the following pop-up in the lower-left corner of the screen:

"The file failed to upload."

I have tried .jpg, .bmp and .png, saving and/or overwriting files to and from, different programs, tried resetting exif data... Even tried logging off and rebooting my computer a few times, but that only works about 10-20% of the time.

Are there pre-reqs, protocols or filters in effect that I am not aware of?

Edit: I know there are ways around this, like using another file server, but that doesn't really solve the problem...

    Seems to work for me no matter the image format. I don't know of any prerequisites. I'm guessing it has something to do with this?

    I don't think it has to do with the certificate issue, as it has been bugging me for a while longer. If I remember correctly, it started after the html-changes. At least it's never happened before that.

    Edit: tried Edge instead of my usual Firefox, and it works with that. Not Sure If happy or sad.
