Undercity Magma Bulwark Encounter: Red Skeleton -It is Unfinished!
image
As I was playing through my ('currently' unreleased) Baldur's Gate play-through and I thought that there should be a container added beside where the Plate Mail +2 'The Magma Bulwark' is found - the dark broken block to its right to be precise. Although then I wanted to give it to a Skeleton Warrior instead of just finding it (I favoured extra fights for the enchanted plate mail is found right at 'the end of the game'). I was originally going to create an armour overlay sprite (Microsoft Paint crop skills for the win - yo) akin to how the helmet and weapons work for the Skeletal Warriors although then I found / realized that there was an arguably better opinion with more detail and animation quality in the form of those big Armoured Skeletal Warriors and Skeletal Golems. Thus I have my playthrough party 'Ctrl+6-7 cheat key-ed' into various skeletons
Dynaheir is the Skeletal Golem, Yeslick is the Skeleton Warrior with the small shield, Ajantis is the Skeleton Warrior with the medium shield, Minsc is the rightmost Withered Armoured Skeleton Warrior and Coran is the leftmost Withered Armoured Skeleton Warrior with lastly (and irrefutably greatest:-P) Matthew The Great (P.C.) as the Red Skeleton in the back / middle.

Although I had other plans (as you can already deduct I presume from the above animated gif >.>).
So I was thinking of adding the above 'Skeleton Party' encounter with the Plate Mail +2 'The Magma Bulwark' as the greatest treasure with possibly some other minor treasure / loot / booty on the other skeletons.

Okay I am open for ideas and this so far is what I have so far:

-The Red Skeleton: In-game name: Ric'Berna
This guy has to be a / an hommage to Richard Bernard "Red" Skelton:
Richard Bernard "Red" Skelton (July 18, 1913 – September 17, 1997) was an American entertainer. He was best known for his national radio and television acts between 1937 and 1971, and as host of the television program The Red Skelton Show. Skelton, who has stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for his work in radio and television, also appeared in vaudeville, films, nightclubs, and casinos, all while he pursued an entirely separate career as an artist. Skelton began developing his comedic and pantomime skills from the age of 10, when he became part of a traveling medicine show. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Skelton .
I am thinking of having his in-game Skelton name be a mash up / a corruption of Richard Bernard. It would be kind of like how Mor'Ladim in Classic World of Warcraft is a corruption of Morgan Ladimore (wow lore) or like how in the Faerûnian ballad of "The Warlock King" it is based upon a corruption of the great Lich Larloch and The Warlock's Crypt - where he dwelt http://forgottenrealms.wikia.com/wiki/The_Warlock_King .

Perhaps his name could be something like Ric'Berna (as in the 'Mor'Ladim pattern' of [Ric]hard [Berna]rd) combining two Easter eggs into 'one'.

Upon his death "Ric'Berna" will explode in a fireball - like a Phoenix Guard. Roasted!

Equipment:
-New Helmet: "HELM00"
image
I created this here helmet for there are / were no current equip-able helmets in Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition that offer a likeness to the Red Skeleton's protrusion-less helm. So I searched around near infinity and my hunches were correct and I found the necessary assets to combine into a helm that would roughly match that of the Red Skeleton's own helm. The helmet is 90% based upon the Mirror Helm (that is found within Near Infinity) and "HELM35" (which is a 'non-droppable' item and is found on a few non-companion characters).
I took naming inspiration from the internal helmet animation designation of 'Helmet 0' (and with compatibility in mind) I christened it "HELM00" (or just "Helmet" in-game)!

image
(The above picture is no error, no Matthew The Great is so Metal that he shoots Morningstar +1s as his arrows! Suck on that Arrows of Detonation:-P).
-Armour: Plate Mail +2 'The Magma Bulwark'.
-Weapon: Bastard Sword +1 (I looked up Long Sword +1 vs. Bastard Sword +1 in Near Infinity, Bastard Sword +1 is much rarer. Plus it is more suiting, the deadliest Skeletal Warriors use them and plus it suits the animation's large one-handed sword)
-Oil of Speed (I desire a script to be written that upon combat Ric'Berna will use / consume the Oil of Speed. I wanted to say drink and then I remembered that skeleton pirate drinking scene from pirates of the Caribbean O.o).

We are naming the rest of the skeletons after Guns and Roses 1987 band members (Slash for the Bone Golem inspired it): The short list for the Guns in Roses that released the Appetite for Destruction album is as follows: Axle Rose, Slash, Izzy Stradlin, Duff McKagan and Steven Adler.

image
Look at the album cover it is paradise city, it's so easy!

The above gif image with all of the skeletons will have all of the 'actors' rearranged to form an inverted cross with the following positions for the 'actors':

Northernmost: 'The Red Skelton' Ric'Berna as an Immoral Armoured Red Warrior, eternal and forsaken from Valhalla, glowing red, shiny and bone! (F*ck it! Let's throw in some Mad Max Fury Road dialog Easter eggs while we are at it too!)
Second Northernmost: Izzy'Nildarts will be a Withered Armoured Skeleton with an Axe (because he played Rhythm Guitar). Also Ancient Armour.
Rightmost: Ffud McKagan will be a Withered Armoured Skeleton with an Axe (because he played Bass). Also Ancient Armour.
Middle: El'xaesor will be a 'Skeleton Priest' with a non-magical medium shield and a Flail +1 (kinda like a mic. and 'cord'). Also equipped: HELM01.
Leftmost: St. Never'Elda will be a 'Skeleton Priest' with a Buckler +1 and a Club +1 (his 'drumstick' X-D). Also equipped: HELM01.
Bottom: Slash is going to be the Bone Golem - there is no Bone about it  (I couldn't resist X-P).

There needs to be some type of black metal loot, you know inverted cross and all. Ah! The helmet is black on the Red Dead Skelton! (I guess all of my gifs are all kinda Boned!)

Ah crap! I seem to make a ton of projects and have so little work hours to get them done in a reasonable amount of time - if only I could hire people to work on these types of projects than we might actually hit a reasonable release schedule X-P. @Thalamond 1 second, that blue text is (so I hear on the fourms) very horrid on a mobile device.. There ta da! No more eye pains X.x.

Also @rapsam2003 this is kinda of another one of my many er, 'project threads' where I go: "Wow what a great idea! -I will write that down and save it on a thread to remember some time later (and hopefully expand upon it)!". Then I go: "*Opens up Near Infinity and DLTCEP modding tools* Crap! Yeah, this will take a while for just one guy hey? - Hmmm, say what is on youtube or Game of Thrones or has civ 5 battle royale mk. II part ~X come out yet? - Damn I am good a baking stuff these buns are amazing!, oh wow I where did 6 hours go?"

That is pretty much what happens although do get some work done from time to time or I stay up for ~3 days and go mad learning how to mod like some mad man and make like a crazy amazing of content for ~72 hours X-D. I am more of a 'team player' kind of guy so working by myself is good for creative freedom but is pretty ":-/" when going: "Yeah I will make this mod! Let's call up my crazy team to get this ball rolling! *Whisper noises* -Oh wait I am the team? Well this is going to take some time..." I am pretty sure Trent Oster has a pretty different work flow plan than I do, but damn you have to admit that helm I made is pretty good for a one guy team eh mate X-D!

Oh I got that above helm some what finished - check it out:
    image
Helm of Discipline 'The Visage of Gilgeam'
This magical near entirely gold plated helm is of incredible strength considering that it is smithed from a bronze and iron alloy that most all venerable smiths of the common day would shy away from. It is readily believed by most of the armour smithing profession that such a mixture of metals to be used as a safeguard against cranial impact given the softer nature of bronze is not advisable for all but ceremonial purposes. Alas this helm provides the strength necessary to shield the wearer from all but the most determined of blows struck upon the skull. Given the unexpected metallurgic nature of such a helm one might assume that magic were at play for such a solid composition yet surprisingly no such magic is used to strengthen helm's uncommon alloy other than to prevent the decorative gold plating of the helm's exterior from scratching off. Upon further divination it is found that this helm heralds from lands of the old empire of Unther within the East of Faerûn. Although as peculiar as the Unther smiths' metal trickery of this helm is, most will agree that it still fails to intrigue to the same manner as that of the blessing gifted upon this helm by none other than the God-King of Unther himself known as Gilgeam. This golden helm bears the mark of an elite legion of the Unther empire and more specifically the rather difficult to decipher Untheric runes that that proclaim the following: "Awarded from the God-King Gilgeam himself as gratitude towards the merits of outstanding discipline and superior command." It is believed that such a blessed helm will only be given to the most stoic and devastating elite legionaries of the legions of Unther and that these varieties of helm from within the old empire of Unther are also known as 'The Visage of Gilgeam'. It is told that such helms are given as promotions to the most deadly and subsequently elite of Unther legionaries as a safeguards to keep them from turning on their own soldiers in case of a berserking curse were to be laid upon them by an opposing force. It is rumoured that Gilgeam 'Father of Victory' was deeply embarrassed when one of his most prized elite legions was all but wiped out by a group of Mulhorand spell casters. To put salt in Gilgeam's wound, his elite legion was struck down by their own blades after a clever band of Mulhorand spell casters broke the ranks of the elite legion nicknamed 'Gilgeam's Pride' with a series of berserking curses while being completely unscathed by the legion in the process. The curses were later found out by a interrogated Mulhorand priest to have been laid on the legion's own swords the night before they slew themselves while the legionaries were distracted by prostitutes hired by the Mulhorand spell casters. As to how such a prized and treasured item from both within and abroad of Unther found its way into your possession is unknown. Although one may happen a guess that if such an item was stolen from it's owner then there would likely be those incentivized by gold to search for the helm's unmistakable golden exterior and deep red plume. Then again one may come across a rich collector avid to purchase the prized helm to further expand their collection of rare and highly sought after elite Unther legionnaire equipment. It is said that such items as these are relics of an older and more grander time of the Unther empire and thus fetch a very high price from private collectors of the like. With anyway that one looks at this helm, one can be certain of at least of one thing and that is if one were to don this helm in the lands of Unther within the gaze of many a Unther legion - it would surely be removed in quick succession from one's shoulders along with one's own head.

    STATISTICS:

    Equipped Abilities:
    – Protects against critical hits
    – Wearer is immune to Berserk

    Weight: 3

This is a thread for an unfinished mod which may turn into a finished mod in the near future.

The above master post contains my notes on the 'U.M.B.E.R.S.' mod which is not currently completed yet. I have my notes and plans laid out (rather confusingly I suppose) here as a way to back up my work while also opening them up to the public while I whittle away at various projects.

Now does that make any senses?

Now it does, yes. I'll keep an eye on this thread. If it turns into something, I'll swing by again. :)

Here is a brief work update video on this mod's ongoing development.

Please Take Note: The attached file Is NOT a working mod. Rather that it is a work / progress back-up in the case of that if I may need it in the 'current' (1:44 AM 12/05(May)/2016) near or distant future come any unforeseen difficulties.

    Take care guys;-)!

U.M.B.E.R.S. Update 02 is now here! -Well it still needs more work but I would say that it is ~70% complete.

I did some more work on the U.M.B.E.R.S. Project a few days back but I forgot to share the video that I recorded / uploaded for on the day that I completed the video for Baldur's Gate Forum was oddly down / a bit 'screwy' (on my end at least - but now it seems to be back to the usual). Also I remembered that I wanted the Helm of Discipline to be found earlier in a play through not at the end of it (I would imagine it being looted somewhere before or around / at the Bandit Camp - at those forest ruins perhaps, within a secret -non hidden- burial chamber guarded by -?-, hmm a little Stone of Askavar riff esc?) Anyway so I replaced the Helm of Discipline with 'HELM00' (of which I originally intended vs. what I said in Update 01 video :-P). Additionally I added Slash the Skeletal Golem whom I should put in U.M.B.E.R.S. Update 03 (when I get around to finishing that) although I plan to have that release along side with a completed reforged Plate Mail Armour +2 'Magma Bulwark' B.A.M. ( oL o).
