Does opcode 285 Work?

in General Modding
I've been trying to use "Stat: Melee Weapon Damage Modifier [285]" to modify the Kensai kit bonuses, but after I apply them they do not appear to function in game when the character is using a melee weapon.

    It does not show up in the inventory or record screens, but it does alter melee damage.

    should that be reported as a bug?
