.lua file max frame rate, SoD

mashedtatersmashedtaters Member Posts: 2,266
Hello, I have tried to change the maximum frame rate of the Siege of Dragonspear by editing the .lua file like this:

SetPrivateProfileString('Program Options','Maximum Frame Rate','60')

However, it does not respond, the speed does not change at all. The .lua file that I am editing is located in C:\Documents and Settings\XXXX\My Documents\Baldur's Gate - Enhanced Edition

I have both Baldur's Gate and SoD 2.3 installed unmodded, but neither of them are responding to the .lua file change.

Anyone have any ideas?

Here is my .lua file (I changed its format from .lua to txt in order to upload it to this forum).

My bad - it is there... I must've missed it.

I have my MFR set to 90 and it works great for me...

    Suggestion:

    - Close the game completely
    - Delete the baldur.lua file.
    - Restart the game, load a save.
    - Escape > quit the game completely.
    - Go to the newly generated baldur.lua
    - Search for the maximum frame rate line.
    - Change it to 60
    - Save the file
    - Close your text editor
    - Open the game.
    - Load the save.

Hey, wow! That worked, you rock, @Mr2150 ! Thank you very much.

Just question, though, how did you know that would do anything?

I wondered if the lua file had become corrupted in some way. By deleting and forcing the game to regenerate it, it would have cleared any corruption :)

    Glad it's working...

PS - Battles on MFR of 90 are fun ....

The alternate renderer runs at 30, deleting the file has returned you back to the default renderer which can run at other rates.

Aha... and there is the official explanation! Which makes much more sense...
