Fra300589Fra300589 Member Posts: 4
As i launch the game it shows a message "Unable to create D3D device. game will exit". I checked my graphic card drivers, they are up to date.

Any help? thanks :)

    Hi
Link below suggests you may need to update your graphics card driver.
    https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/games_windows_10/failed-to-create-d3d-device/a2fdbf5e-62f9-4c3d-a978-8ac1de0fc813

As you mention the driver is up to date, if you would like any assistance please attach a directx diagnostic report.
(Windows/R, type dxdiag, click ok, wait for the green progress bar to complete, save all information, and attach the resulting file here.

    Thanks

    Hi
I already tried to launch the game as Admin and also with previous windows compatibility. Not worked.

I put here the dxdiag report
    Thanks

    Hi
From what I can see the latest update would be Crimson 17.4.4, reading the release notes that indicates it has driver version 22.19.162.4 so you do appear to be up to date.

Some general suggestions, hopefully one of these will help.

Admin and Compatibility should only be required if you have installed to a Windows location (such as C:Windows\. If you install to a location such as C:\Games instead no elevated rights would be required.

Do you have directx 9.0c installed alongside directx 11. You could try installing/re-installing it.

If you have Plays.tv active, some AMD users have reported disabling it has resolved crashes on startup form them. I don't know much about it but here's a link showing how to do that.

& if that doesn't work you could try going to documents/planescape torment - enhanced edition and renaming the baldur.lua file if there is one. Then download and extract this file to that location.

    Hi
Yes directx 9.0c is installed alongside directx 11 and ReLive is switched off. I exchanged Baldur.ini file but still gives me the same problem.
By the way i forgot to mention the fact that a week ago the game worked as expect (sorry about that), i just reached the Friendly Arm Inn. When i tried to launch again the game, i went into that problem.

    Thanks for your time

Just to be clear, you want to be changing the name of your baldur.lua file and extracting the Baldur.lua file that was provided. Not the baldur.ini file.
