Elf invoker

Is there anyway to mod the game so elves can be any specialist mage? I think it's lame they can only be enchanter or diviner. You would think a long lived race can master any magic they want.

Nevermind. Bg tweak will do it.

Nope. Tried bg tweaks remove racial restrictions for kits but invoker is still not an option.

I use the "remove restrictions" components of Tweaks Anthology in IWD and it works fine. Any race can be any class or kit, (except Monks are limited to human-only because the other races lack monk animations).

Would that be the same tweak pack from gibberling 3?

That is the one I used.

Tweaks anthology is the most advanced/up to date version of the tweak pack.

Cool. Will try that when I get home.

Nope. Did clean install. It allows elves every class but abjurer necromancy an invoker are not there. Odd

Heh, Im guessing elves were left off due to constitution negatives. And necromancy seems like it was always a human only thing, from the game point of view, but I hear ya, this IS a godchild we are talking about, not the usual type of guy.

Constitution req is 16. Elves can reach 17 at character creation. Hmm dang. Really was into an elf invoker.

@olteron yeah, I was just thinkin the average would be less, from the game developers point of view.

    You tried using EEKeeper?

I'm looking into it as we speak.

EEkeeper works for me. Create an Elf Enchanter. Go into EEKepper and make him an Invoker or Necromancer and it works.

Worked like a charm rangletoft. Or worked like a magic missle. Charm never works.

That's because you're rolling Invokers and not Enchanters.

Lol. I'd make an enchanter. But giving up sequence and contingency spells and wish... mordy swords as well. I mean evocation has so much good things to lose. I don't even think enchantment has end game spells.

I mean they have spells from other schools but there are no enchantment spells above level 5.

Wish belongs to two schools, so no mage loses it, (unless a mod kit has both invocation and conjuration as opposed schools).

Enchantment doesn't have any spells higher than 5th level, but it has several end-game spells. An Enchanter's Chaos forces a save at -6, -10 after Greater Malison. Feeblemind saves at -4 / -8. Both are terrific all through Throne of Bhaal.

Honestly, the spell I always miss most on my Enchanters is Web. No fair that the direct damage school also gets arguably the best disabling spell over the life of the trilogy, too. But those -6 Chaos spells are super tasty.

Do those enchantment spells work on end game bosses? Or are they immune? Because if they are immune then I would rather have mordy swords and mass aoe damage spells.

Chaos is just confusion, which is one of the more common immunities. Feeblemind immunity, on the other hand, is one of the rarest in the game-- rare enough that the only examples I can think of offhand are Mordek's sword and Planetars/Devas.

If it isn't immune to magic in a general sense (like Liches, who are immune to level 5 spells), it can almost certainly be feebleminded. This includes undead and constructs (golems) who are otherwise immune to most mind-affecting spells. Hell, it might even work on slimes for all I know-- I've never tried it, but it works on most everything else, so why not?
