Gift for safana

in Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear
hello, i have been following the Safana romance (despite knowing how badly that will end) and something in it confuses me.
Safana asks you for a gift but nothing i have ever gathered seems to unlock a dialog option to give her anything in the next conversation. it is Always the 'noting as significant as you' excuse or the crude "i thought you were kiddin you ain't gettin shit" option. Do you need toi find her a special plot item or was this just a quest never worked out properly?

    You actually need a gift but there are a number of easy to find items to make her happy like angel skin ring, bloodstone amulet, some gems like black opal, sphene gem etc...small trinkets.
