Beamdog client advantage over standalone installation?

Hello,

I've just purchased BG:EE and I'm not sure, if I should use the BD client to download the game or the standalone option?

If there are any future updates to the game, can I apply them without the client installed? What are the advantages of using the client to install the game?

    The standalone option is a legacy one and while it still works, it won't get any new support.

    The new Beamdog Client features easy-to-access forum links, quick links to the latest versions of online game manuals, and better connections to support.

    Overall, right now, both options should be fine to install the game, but the Client is the way not to miss any updates.
