Gnaler and Kambolder (Minor Spoilers)

I liked the exchange with Gnaler and Kambolder, the gnoll and kobold who give you a portrait of themselves and tell you they are on a quest, but I felt as if there was a joke I wasn't getting. Is it just a reference to Larry, Darryl and Darryl, the kobolds you meet in BG1, or is there something else going on here?

    That's really cool. I love that. I'll make sure to keep the picture next time. I think I sold it for 50GP on my first run through.
