    Can I change my choice?

Chaotic Evil, then can have Kivan or Coran.

Surely having a good archer in BG tips the powergaming scales?

You'd have to be chaotic neutral to have Kivan or Coran, though.
Oh right, sorry, thought it just had to be in the same line or column.

    I don't like this game. :'(

I didn't mean to sound cruel. TBH, it has opened my eyes to party concepts that I hadn't thought before,

Give me Kivan, Minsc, Imoen, Khalid and Quayle and I'm good to go.

Kind of weird there are so many True Neutral characters, I would have expected that alignment to be exceedingly rare.

To be fair, two of them are druids, and both of them kind of stretch the definition of the alignment.

Jaheira talks a lot about balance but pretty much only wants good things and never bad things.

Faldorn is on the opposite end of the spectrum. If I recall she wants to destroy humanoid society as a whole, which would generally be considered evil, but since she peppers it all with talk of restoring "The Natural Order" of the world it's all standard neutral druid talk.

If Druids were allowed to be other alignments I don't think either of them would be True Neutral.

I think that's why they were eventually allowed to be Neutral in some way, shape or form in 3.X. Doesn't matter if it was Lawful, Chaotic, Good or Evil, as long as there was some neutrality, they were able to stay as Druids.

My vote is an anti-vote; which party is least appealing?

Jaheira, Branwen, that shadow druid, that debutante girl with absolutely no class awareness. Prepare to be nagged upon, til thine ears fall off. Prepare to be called sexist/racist every time you make a joke. Prepare to be schooled in politics. Prepare to never hear the end of it, if you at the end of a long and hard day just toss your not really that wet and mucky clothes in your sleeping bag to warm your feet, instead of scrubbing them clean, fixate a laundry line between two trees and hang your clothes over the laundry line. Eurgh!

CN has all the pieces I like to run with in a party:

    Charname (Tank)
    Alora (thief)
    Xzar/Neera (mage)
    Quayle (mage/cleric)
    Branwen/Faldorn (cleric or druid)
    Kivan (ranger)

    Chaotic Good. Access to:

Two top mages (Quayle and Neera).
    Best sibling (Imoen)
    Best archer (Coran)
    Best Thief (Alora)
Ablative meatshields (Khalid, Garrick, Minsc, Safana)

BG2 though, gots to be Chaotic Neutral.
