I need some minor role play info on haste please (mage pc)

In the spell description it says the haste spell ages anyone who uses it by 1 year and I wanted to know if it was possible for my mage pc to aim the spell so it doesn't affect him but hastens my other party members?

Make the rest of the party stand far away from the mage, then target someone else besides the mage.
This should work, depending on the range of the spell. I'm 99% certain it works.

Thank you, now I can cast haste without fear.

Ah, good ol' 2nd edition haste, killing off adventurers one casting at a time. You can also start walking right after casting to help make sure you're out of the area, I frequently do it with fireballs.

Wait, are you afraid that the "ages the user by 1 year" thing actually has an impact gameplay-wise? It doesn't, it's just a little bit of lore from PnP.

It would be *hilarious* if you really could haste yourself to death. Imagine the surprise "Heh ok... buff for the fight... haste of course...oh...oh no."
