Stopping Experience gained in SoD for importing into 2

Is there any way to prevent exp growth in SoD?
The extra level/levels gained in SoD makes the start of 2 far too easy in my opinion so is there any way to actually do this or is my only real option to edit my character before I end the game back down to pre-SoD exp cap?

    Hello!

    The actual additional XP might make a few things in BG2 easier, yes, but you have to take into account you'll reach 1 mln of XP much faster, which will mean tougher spawns.

    Anyway, you can use the EE-Keeper to take off extra XP, or install difficulty-enhancing mods on BG2.

    You can use the EET_Tweaks mod, despite its name it also works for other games. You can adjust XP gain for individual campaigns or on global basis. The actual value to select e.g. reduce overall xp gain to 70% can be chosen depending on how much mods etc you have installed. I used it with the 70% setting while removing XP-capping and came into BG2 at acceptable level.
