Warhammer Quarrelers FTW, both archery-wise and because of the punny name.

@marcialhd, there is mod to remove all Race-Class restrictions made by @BCaesar -> No Race Restrictions Mod version 1.01 for BG:EE (or BG2:EE) version 2.0 and later

    Download, unzip, copy to Override

But i do not want that i actually like to have some kind of restrictions for some classes as long as it makes sense, but for the specific case of elven and half-elven mage specialists it makes no sense for them to have less options available than humans, since for elves they were the ones who TAUGHT humans magic, and for half-elves they are the children of BOTH races which means that whatever paths are available humans and elves should be available to them (with some minor exceptions of course).

True, elves taught humans magic, but humans have more specialties as mages because humans are more progressive due to their shorter life span. Thus more specialties are available to them.

Or it could be that elves are naturally incompetent. Look at Irenicus. His plans are long-winded and utterly pointless. He doesn't even know what exactly he wants to do. But he also used to be an elf.

Besides, using FR lore, great mages are humans. Elminster, Larloch, Melf, Aganazzar...

Those are empires. Some ancient like Netheril. And not to forget the even older Imaskar. First empire of humans and greatest nation of magic-users.

Not just any empires. Great human magocracies and magocentric empires devoted to the art.

Elves being "better" at magic is debatable. They may have taught humans magic, but they are super conservative to the point of self destruction. They have fewer specialties because that is what is considered "acceptable" magic in elven culture. They may be better in their niche, but humans have become the pioneers of magic. Advancing new schools and spells while the elves hide away content in their percieved superiority.

i did not meant to sound like i was saying that Elves were better, frankly my whole post was about Half Elves and why THEY should have the same kits as humans...
