Skull looks greatly, but sword is a bit out of the place in my opinion. Not all empty spaces need to be filled by graphic, some may remain as they are. Putting additional graphics in too many spaces will make UI a bit overloaded.
Why not rearrange the elements to avoid there being extra space altogether? You can do that by editing the CHU file, and it's not horrifyingly difficult
It should be pretty straightforward too: the names are fairly indicative of what they are. For the character record screen for example, it's GUIREC.CHU
@Kaeloree - working with CHU files is actually pretty tricky I'm finding. Sometimes I don't change any element at all and the saved CHU will crash my game. Its strange its seems that when I look at different elements in the CHU without changing it has some effect on the save file. I don't understand....
@Kaeloree@Magevil I don't think we did anything to the CHU format. Which file are you editing? Do you have the latest version of DLTCEP? What's your Setup like?
@Kaeloree@Coriander - So here is my issue. I have DLTCEP 7.5a and when I load GUIREC.CHU and simply save the .CHU file in override folder it works just fine. Now when I open the same .CHU file and start to look around by navigating window and selecting controls...if I save the same .CHU without making any changes it will crash my BG game upon load. Thank for the help!
@Coriander - when I edit some of the labels and textareas the saved .CHU works just fine. I'm trying to figure out what type the portrait is on the record screen so I can move it. This is primarily where I'm having trouble because I'm going through all the different types and looking a the 'select control'.
@Magevil No idea what'd be causing that crash with DLTCEP. Portraits will be a button. Usually with GUICTRL. Everything that displays an image, like a portrait or container icon will be a button. On some controls if the size is 0 there'll be a crash.
The problem with your new layout is that the these things in front of the attributes normally belong to their descriptions on bottom. Every gamer new to BG won't recognize that if they use your layout.
@Seldar - Thanks. I'm looking forward to optimizing the inventory screen next.
@Etmain - I plan to bring more simplicity and elegance to future design layouts. I'm hoping to have BETA 5 out by the end of the weekend. Blue-Sliver buttons are planed for BETA 6 release. Thanks.
@Porcelyn - Yeah, I'm finally starting to put some polish on these BETA releases. Still pretty early in the design process but the finished product should be outstanding. Thanks.
@Tim - Inventory screen also provides the same information next to each other. Is it really important to have the same information on two separate screens? If they can't make the connection then do the stats even mean anything to them in the first place? No...so its a mute point in my opinion.
Don't know Magevil.. if you take these Icons and numbers out of context they are a bit useless in my opinion. Then you could get rid of them completely. Because now in your screen they are just numbers without context. But this is only my opinion.
Nice, odered and understandable. Just how I like it!
Think you could improve the leather on the menu buttons as well? I believe either raw, or weathered leather would work nicely with your GUI. As it stands now the Overhaul leather is a tad too saturated/shiny for my taste.

That's my opinion.
Let me know what you think of the new layout. Thanks. @Kaeloree
